DeAngelo Williams anyone ?

He looks bigger in spikes pictures. I wonder if we have a picture of these two with dri archer.

DO we have any cap left for one of the CBs left on FA? hopefully we do.

Cutting Cam Thomas gives the team 2,5M but then we have to sign another DE and I doubt we'd find anyting decent for less than 1,5M/year. So there won't be much cap relief there

I would of rather had Jackson but as a back up he is fine and got a small rb dri can learn how to run like him, improve his vision. Decent depth signing to fill in for bell for wl 1-2 and a good role model for dri to learn from

Now let's just trade for Keenan Lewis, re-sign James Harrison and draft a pass rusher...

I'm all for that

Saints aren't done making deals. Actively shopping disgruntled CB Keenan Lewis, asking teams not to divulge their inquiries ...

CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora reports the Saints are shopping LCB Keenan Lewis.

Lewis asked for his release from the Saints earlier this week. He reportedly has concerns about his long-term future with the team, but is unlikely to draw any trade-interest with three years remaining on his contract. Coming off a down 2014, Lewis is owed $3 million in salary and bonuses.

Any word on terms?

Can't imagine it'll tie them up for more than 2 years. When he's gone, I hope his money is gone from our cap space too.

That would really help things. Now that the Ben deal is done they could do it.

our god professionist retired this week

What happened, Williams walked in the door and the Steelers handed him a contract. We don't give a crap if you can still play. Just sign on the dotted line..LOL

I like his attitude

“I want to come in and help them be productive on offense,Williams said. “Whether that means me coming off the bench, giving the offensive line water, making sure Ben Roethlisberger's towel is dry so he can wipe his hands and throw the ball better —whatever it takes for us to win a Super Bowl, I'm willing and able to do it.”

Hopefully he can come in and be like Pegram was to Morris back in the day.

He's always been a high character guy and says he has a LOT of gas left in the tank, could be a great pick up.

He's also split time his entire career with Stewart in Carolina and I don't remember him complaining, so I don't think he will have a problem being a complimentary player. Those two were a very nice RB tandem in their prime.

If he can be healthy, we could use a good backup rb

Williams could start in a few teams. And with Bell likely out on suspension, he will start for us. More of a speed back than power back. Good free agent move.

It will be great to have a veteran with character to fill in for W1/2 and to spell Bell.

If he can do 100 carries and average 4.0 this season, supporting Bell, this is a great signing at a good value.

Anybody in da 'Burgh can point him to a shop to get some Gold in his dreads?

If he plays the first 4 games, he'll have 100 carries by then or pretty close to it.

nice addition, the guy is a consummate professional and he will be a good influence for Bell, unlike LeBlunt

Read a few things in different places that suggest he's a high-character guy with a strong family-man background. Could be a good influence for Bell (and maybe some other young guys).

Also read that he seems highly motivated to do whatever it takes to help the team first - the quote someone used was "I'll hold the water bottle for Ben if that's what they need me to do."
