Covid Vaccine

Interesting side note. Of all the people at my house over Christmas, (son, daughter, g-baby, son in law, wife), those vaccinated, IE my wife, daughter and I are all sick with a respiratory virus. My son, SIL, and grandson are all unvaccinated and fine. I don't know if it's COVID, because there is a lot of respiratory **** going around right now, but it's odd that the vaccinated in this family are the only ones affected.

My son, sigh, still in the house, tested positive at the beginning of the month, a few days later he was negative and felt fine. While not tested, I came down with symptoms of a raging sore throat, cough, congestion and headache a few days later, so I suspect, but can't prove, that I had it as well. 5 days later I felt fine.

Feel better.

Still waiting on my results. My Dr doesn't use the rapid test, says it's not accurate. If I don't get them today, I'll have to wait til Monday. At that point I'll be a week and a half past the day symptoms showed up. Nearly pointless I'd say.

Hope you get better. **** is going to get all of us, vaccinated or not, it would seem.

The unvaccinated are 5X more likely to get infected, that’s based on data. Data that shows for every 1 case among the vaccinated, there are 5 cases among the unvaccinated. Science. I suppose you also think the vaccinated are just as likely to be hospitalized and die?

The vaccines have ended the pandemic for me. The only time I have to deal with Covid is when something gets canceled or closed due to it. Unfortunately, healthcare workers still need to deal with the selfish unvaccinated indefinitely.

The unvaccinated blaming the vaccines for not ending their pandemic is absurd. Think about it.

You're insane if you think that data is still relevant. Every single person I know who is currently infected is vaccinated. Several boosted. The vaccines are not effective at reducing spread of omicron, that is crystal clear. We'll see how effective they remain at preventing hospitalization and death, although it will be hard to determine how much of that is related to the vaccines vs. this variant being less virulent than others vs. there now being a lot of natural immunity in the population as well.

Recent data in PA still seems to show most hospitalized are unvaccinated, I'll give you that. We'll see if that continues to hold true. I for one hope so otherwise we are truly ******.

Yes, seems like a lot of wasted resources. The PCR tests take too long, the rapid tests are quick but don't pick it up early in infection. Both pretty much useless.

No, that is not a true statement unless EVERY person is tested. Otherwise, the testing results simply show that the number who wind up getting tested show that 5x as many unvaccinated get tested as do vaccinated.

As you have posted numerous times, and as I have concurred several times, the shot is a very effective palliative measure - it does not prevent catching the Chinese flu but greatly reduces the symptoms. So who is more likely to be tested - those with the shot or those without? You get that, right?

So what is really going on is the shot reduces symptoms to the point the shot who catch the Chinese flu are much less likely to be symptomatic to the extent they get tested, particularly with the punitive quarantine measures in place for those who test positive for the Chinese flu.

Therefore, your conclusion that the unshot are "5x more likely to catch the Chinese flu" cannot possibly be determined from the available data; instead, what we can say from the data is, "the unshot are 5x more likely to be symptomatic and tested and test positive for the Chinese flu."

Meaning that very possibly those spreading the new variant - the Typhoid Mary's of the Omicron version - are the low symptom to no symptom shot, spreading the disease willy-nilly.

You seem to think that as long as more unvaxed people catch the virus than vaxed people, that that means the shots are effective. Even if that factor decreases from 15x, to 12x, to 8x, to 5x.

That's not how vaccines work Floggy. Vaccines end viral contagions. Remember smallpos, measles, polio?

If 5 out of 100 people catching the virus were unvaccinated, you'd still be screaming "They work!"

  • The vaxed being willing to get their 4th booster at this point, still buying the validity of these faulty cocktails

My sister in law is a nurse. She VEHEMENTLY refuses to take the shot, has implored my wife and I not to. She is a traveling nurse and voila....they are in high demand now.

My niece is in school to become a dental hygienist. Not shotted. After 2 years of looking into people's mouths, she caught the Rona last week. Had the sniffles. She too said...don't get vaccipoisened.
