Whiteout conditions in State College PA this weekend as the Michigan Wolverines, led by their coach Jim Harbaugh, a convicted felon in the offseason, try to stay relevant while most of the nation just wants to see a frown on Harbaugh’s smug stupid face.

Michigan has talent. They always do, but as usual they underachieve. They brought in former PSU WR coach Josh Gattis to install a version of a spread offense and so far he has looked over his head. Shea Patterson has been mediocre and the offense sputters.

Penn State’s defense has taken a big step forward with tons of NFL caliber players getting snaps. This is one of the fastest defenses in the country. They will bring pressure and force Patterson to make plays.

Penn State’s OL is getting better and it was impressive that they were able to run out the clock to close out the game vs Iowa. That is something PSU has not been able to do for years. They’ve had splash runs from Saquon and Sanders but not the grind it out runs and now they are starting to be able to do that.

The PSU offense still needs another WR to step up. Hamler is great as the #1 option and Freiermuth may be the best complete TE in the country. Jahan Dotson is the #2 and he has been OK. The guy they need to step up is Justin Shorter who is 6’5 with top end speed. He was a 5 star recruit and so far has not produced. If he can start making plays then this offense can go to another level.

i feel good about PSU’s defense holding down Michigan. This game still makes me nervous though because crazy **** often happens vs Michigan.

PSU is still a very young team. Winning on the road at Iowa was huge for them. But they started slow due to nerves and made mistakes. Here’s hoping they don’t get too hyped up for this one and give Michigan some chances.

I do think Penn State can and should win this one at home. But, that youth factor and the OL are still potential factors. I love their D and the fact that as good as they are, they still rotate players in and out. They are pretty damn deep on D. If the O gets going, I think they win this going away.

Penn State really is the game of the week. Not many ranked matchups this weekend

14 Michigan at 7 Penn State 7:30 ABC

9 Florida at SouthCarolina Noon on ESPN
Was last week a fluke for carolina? I think Florida smashes them.

12 Oregon at 25 Washington 3:30 on ABC

17 Arizona State at 13 Utah 6:00 on PAC 12 network
herm Edwards has ASU playing great but Utah is tough at home

Tennessee at 1 Alabama 9:00 on ESPN
This used to be a big game but likely blowout city by the half.

I'm starting to think LSU and not Alabama is the best team. Joe Burrow accuracy and decision making is ultra-impressive.

79.6% conceptions in the SEC? 25 TD's 3 INT. How? Is it him or their OC. I'm not sure how good Burrow's arm is for the NFL, but I'm intrigued.

He's not playing Big 12 defenses.

I cant wait for gattis O to pick it better today same with Shea Patterson if he gets drafted at best he is a Ryan Tannehill

Quit passively aggressively hyping Burrows to take over for Ben...

No first round pick and as much fun as it is to talk about, tomlin is not getting traded....

Like the Wolverines, Patterson has been a huge disappointment this year.

I read somewhere that Gattis's scheme was to blame.

Not sure I buy any of it.

If the Steelers trade Tomlin to the Redskins, I'm hosting a party. Nothing can be more important to the team winning another super bowl outside of Ben not retiring.

Burrow looks like a first-round pick. We don't have one this year. Most impressive to me is how good he is in the red zone.

I'd like the final four teams to be

Alabama, LSU, Ohio State, and Clemson.

Down goes Wisconsin

So they should be out of playoff contention right? I mean since Georgia is out because of their loss, Wisconsin should be as well right? Even if they win the big 10 no bowl for them.

Let's see how Wisconsin is treated vs Georgia. My guess is Wisconsin falls pretty hard.

Illinois has a bunch of transfer kids from some big programs. They had a lot of injuries and have been getting better. This loss is mostly due to Wisconsin playing Ohio State next week. It was a classic trap game. Wisky looked ahead and got caught.

Probably. Because those are the rules that apply to non-SEC teams. Georgia isn't hurt by their loss at all.

Bullshit. Georgia dropped all the way to 10. How does that not hurt them? Georgia went from 3 to 10. That's 7 spots. Let's see if Wisconsin drops to 13. Again you are so blinded by your hatred for all things SEC it clouds everything you talk about.

You can blame it on looking ahead to OSU but I don't think they were thinking about OSU when Illinois got that Int. Anything to give them an excuse to losing to a bad team because they are in the big 10.

Shouldn’t PSU wear their all-white unis for white out games?

Here's the difference. If Georgia wins the SEC, they are in the playoff. No doubt. If Wisconsin now wins the Big Ten, there's a good shot they get left out just like Ohio State did last year.

That's why the georgia loss is ultimately meaningless. They still control their destiny. Wisconsin's only chance is to win out and hope they face an undefeated Penn State in the Big Ten championship. If they beat Ohio State next week, then they play OSU again and beat them again in the championship, I bet Wisky gets left out of playoffs.

Big difference

Big 10 hasn't scored a point in the College Football Playoffs since 2015.

Penn State sitting back in zone letting Patterson carve them up. PSU scared of Shea ******* Patterson.

Just imagine if Clifford actually led Hamler. His deep ball is inconsistent at best. He has over or under thrown deep balls on multiple occasions tonight. This game shouldn’t be this close. Guys running wide open and he throws them into coverage.
