Most probably missed that college actually started last weekend with what they are now calling Week 0. I know I missed it. There were only 2 games but one of them was Florida vs Miami which is a marquee game and I didn’t even know it was on last week. Somebody in marketing is bad at their job.
Tonight there are a bunch of games but the best ones are
Thursday
1 Clemson vs Georgia Tech - 8 PM on the new ACC Network - likely the only question this game will answer is whether I get the ACC Network or not. I have no idea.
UCLA at Cincinnati 7PM on ESPN - same time as steelers but could be a good flip to game during commercials. Lots of people predicting a rough year for PAC 12. Cincy is favored. Could be an early black eye loss for PAC.
Utah at BYU 10:15 on ESPN - can’t go wrong with a rivalry game
Friday
Colorado vs Colorado State 10 PM on ESPN - usually a good game
Oklahoma State at Oregon State 10:15 on FS1 - steelers have the Okie State QB and WR, maybe they need a RB or TE to complete the set
Saturday
Idaho at 15 Penn State 3:30 on BTN - likely blowout but first start for QB Sean Clifford replacing McSorley. PSU has tons of young talent, who steps up this year? RB Ricky Slade takes over for Miles Sanders. Slade looked great in limited work last year. Will 5 star WR Justin Shorter finally have a breakout season?
Northwestern at Stanford 4PM on Fox - could be a big game in that whichever team loses will probably be used later to claim that conference doesn’t belong in the playoffs. NW is notorious for horrible early season losses that derail their season. Maybe a big game early gets them ramped up.
3 Georgia at Vanderbilt 7:30 on SEC Network. Likely blowout but still an early season conference game
Virginia at Pitt 7:30 on ACC Network. Virginia should be decent this year.
Game of the Weekend
11 Oregon vs 16 Auburn 7:30 on ABC from Cowboys Stadium. Huge game for the PAC 12. Auburn favored by 3.5 so this should be a good game. Oregon has been recruiting more defense the last few years.
