coach's draft thoughts....all in one thread

The 2017 draft. Amends were needed from past mistakes.

Let's examine:

Watt was drafted because Jarvis Jones did not work out, and maybe because Jason Worilds duped us for tag money, then retired.

JuJu was drafted because Sammy can't catch, and Wheaton gets hurt to easily. Also, insurance is needed in case Byrant tests positive.

Sutton because mighty mouse Golson can't stay healthy.

Jones = former 1st round pick
Golson = 2 round pick
Coates and Wheaton = 3rd round picks

Who's buying and selling this?

not here to defend the FO mistakes like Jarvis but:
- Coates got his hands ****** up and lost his confidence when he came back, he was having a fine start of the season
- Wheaton if he had stayed healthy, which I don't know how can you blame the FO of this still would have been too expensive after signing AB, he was a goner either way
- Golson was a half round reach pick because of need at CB, no biggie, but he had zero injury history in college, so it's not like they drafted a kid with two broken legs in the 2nd round.

So Juju would've been drafted anyway, oh you blame the Fo on Martavis idiot decisions too,
Same with Cam Sutton, even if Golson would have accomplished to become the nickel CB we still needed to bring competition at the position

so, what were you saying? that Jarvis sucked? yeah it is known khaleesi

Jarvis sucked. Okay check.

Coates was NEVER reliable. and Wheaton was so good the Steelers let him go in free agency.

Golson was small, not fast and injury prone.

This is why OLB, WR, and CB were NEEDS. And the reason why the Steelers had to draft these positions.

Too many swing and misses.

I already exposed my point, you repeating the same like a parrot doesn't mean you have replied my arguments.

Coates was never reliable? In the first 5 games last year he caught 61.3% of te passes thrown to him (19 of 31) and 84+ ypg. Brown was 66.1% over the same period and averaged 89+ ypg. 5% less on targets and 5 yards less per game than one of the top 1 or 2 WR's in the league does not seem unreliable to me.

After Game 5, this drops to 14.3% and an average of about 2 ypg.

i wonder if anything happened in game 5.

great stat post, also you have to blame the FO for them getting injured, I mean how could they not see the future?

Golson injury prone in college... he played 12, 12, 10, 13 games in his 4 year carreer with Ole Miss... GTFOH coach

I wondered about Golson's college injury history. I hadn't seen it before recently.

IIRC, Bell was a workhorse without much, if any, injury history in college. that may not be correct, though. Comes to us and gets hurt right away.

I, for one, will step up and place the blame squarely where it belongs.

on the downtrodden, broken shoulders of coach.

How long have they been there for? One or both might have to be thrown out, due to spoilage.

I like to know if mayo or mustard is in play and if your using a bread or wrap of some kind. Also the type of cheese is important or the lack of.
