And Cowher only participated in one Superbowl with those "Hall of Fame" draft picks you mentioned. Tomlin has been to the dance twice. Those obsessed with comparing everything Cowher vs Tomlin never really just sit back and realize Cowher teams were no more successful than Tomlin's. Super Bowls won and lost are the same. Both are very similar in winning percentage in regular season, playoffs, and overall. Yes, Cowher's teams were smash mouth and tough defense. Tomlin's teams are air it out, no-huddle, light up the scoreboard. What I will give the notch to Cowher is that in his first 6 years Steelers were in the playoffs, but they all ended in losses.
It's really about the players and lack of execution. Think about those interceptions Ben threw in the 4th qrt of the 1st Bengals game and the Bronco game. What does that have to do with Tomlin. Nothing! It's about the players on the field poor performances. It can be missed blocking assignments, dropped passes, missed tackles, poor pass pressure, etc... You can bring in Bill Walsh, Chuck Noll, and John Wooden all in one. If the players aren't playing consistently well than you're going to lose to bad teams.
We've watched this team win with Landry Jones and Mike Vick at QB, the coaches were the same. It's beyond time to put the pressure on the players starting with our $100 million QB
