Can anyone explain this? This was part of an article from ESPN. Why is Pitt considered out? They played 3 ranked games to end and one is against GT which should put them in the ACC title game. Pitt is one of the hotter teams right now and ranked 24th. If they beat GT, ND, and Miami they would move up significantly and play in the ACC title game. Here is the section in question

"Still in the mix: Duke, Georgia Tech, Miami, SMU. The odds of earning an at-large bid dropped significantly on Tuesday, but any team that has a chance to win its league will have a chance to lock up a playoff spot, and these teams are all still technically in contention to play for the ACC title. Virginia has the best chance to reach the ACC championship game (66.6%), followed by Georgia Tech (41.3%) and Louisville (33.8%), according to ESPN Analytics. Miami has only a 2.7% chance to reach the championship game -- also behind Duke and SMU.

Out: Boston College, Cal, Clemson, Florida State, North Carolina, NC State, Pitt, Stanford, Syracuse, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest"

As an alumnus of the concrete campus in Oakland my advice is always the next game.
Like the Steelers this Sunday in the City of Angles, Touchdown Jesus will be a major test.
Stay focused on the upcoming opponent and stack the wins one at a time.
ESPN is the has been of sports and wouldn't put much credence in anything they report.

I was just confused and thought I was missing something. I guess if Louisville wins out they will have a better record and the H2H win, but Pitt still has a legit chance to make the title game. If both Louisville and Pitt win out i still think Pitt had an outside shot at getting a bid as they would have beaten 4 ranked opponents
