BTW comparing Tomlin to a GF or ex GF is disturbing, and in no way makes any football sense.
Maybe we just lack in leadership in general.
Ben has matured, and led somewhat.
Juju is growing into a leader by example.
I thought they'd rally behind Shazier.
Perhaps coaching is holding the team back.
If Tomlin doesn't go at least get rid of Butler.
The team doesn't really do outside hires. Which is what makes the Steelers the Steelers.
I get it; tradition and all.
But maybe it's time to start a new tradition and give the current roster and identity they can rally around and be proud of.

I know it could go the other way and a new guy comes in wins a Superbowl with Tomlin's team
I am not of the opinion he can’t get us a ring. We will agree to disagree.

So you are acknowledging that Tomlin won his SB with Cowher's team then?
Lol. Haven't went too deep in this thread.
Who's ex?
For some reason that is your view. Not sure where you pulled that view from. Wishful thinking? Prayers?
Because he has won one regardless of whose players it was and gotten us to another. Empirical evidence says he can and many many other Coaches have never gotten there. It doesn't mean he will or that another coach wouldn't but he has proven he can.
Leb he says Tomlin was the once hot now boring GF.
Maybe there is a poster on the wall after all.
No Tomlin posters on the wall only old school stuff. Guys don't get me wrong i am frustrated I just have a different perspective on it and don't want to live my life being a glass half empty type. If he goes and we get a great Coach fine but I don't see it happening no matter how much we ***** on here so why get worked up over things we can't control and try to take a more positive healthy view.
If indeed Ben is back with this high-powered O, it should be an all-hands-on-deck approach on rebuilding this once-proud Steelers defense.
How many OC, DC, position coaches, and assistant coaches does this team need to go through before the top brass gets that there is one common denominator????
I think some hold onto homer views of Tomlin continue despite the fact he has given nobody confidence that he can get this team back to a SB and win it.
There is no homer views of talent this team is talented enough.
They are in the top 10 of O and D statistically. But in game decision making is losing games.
This team isn't losing because of talent.
Scheme and coaching yes
talent no.
So you are acknowledging that Tomlin won his SB with Cowher's team then?
To a point so what. Would you then hold that against the next coach if he won right away?

I just want to know what you will or would say if the next Coach comes in here with Ben and totally lays an egg and destroys Ben's last couple years worse than you feel Tomlin is, would then you feel remorse for calling for Tomlin's head. I know it could go the other way and a new guy comes in wins a Superbowl with Tomlin's team, then goes 10 years without having a losing record but doesn't win another one without Tomlin's talent.
As frustrating as it can be the patience we have with coaches is one of the defining things for me with this franchise. Unlike Marvin in Cincy Mike has earned a least some respect. I honestly feel this defense has overachieved versus the talent we have a MLB and our #2 CB. I think we are also weak at Safety strictly from a leadership perspective not pure talent.
For me it comes down to wha we have i our Coach versus what we could get. I would have to blown away by the replacement to want to see him go. I don't want McCarthy or someone like him.
Wouldn't do anything. Money is already flowing in from the purchased tickets. And then you have the other monies they get.
Fans displeasure means nothing to their wallet.
If he runs a different defensive scheme and or offensive scheme...then I would say he has changed. What exactly did Tomlin change when he took over the Steelers, pretty much nothing. We ran the same LeBeau zone blitz defense and the same offensive playbook. It's about more than just personnel.
That is offseason decision making or the lack of it. Williams is a questionable starter at best. Bostic was a signing trying to fill a hole instead of upgrading a deficiency. Obviously pass coverage is a liability , but yet they keep trotting that same scheme out there. And the same players. You really think we are talented enough in defense up the middle? I don’t I think we are close but no not to the point where I am comfortable that even in the right call someone like Breeze won’t tear up this secondary. Coty did ok but we really really need a corner that can cover better. We also need a leader in the middle with better play awareness and speed.

I'm not going bezerk over Tomlin, or the idea the Steelers need to replace him.
I would like to see a fundamental change with the entire Defensive coaching staff, DC on down. This post-LeBeau hybrid defense needs to be chucked aside and a new DC brought in with free reigns to build a staff and implement a new system. Whatever we have with Butler has been so watered down since LeBeau left, the whole defensive scheme is running on fumes. In addition, serious upgrades are needed on D, which falls on Colbert. Lord knows they have the $$ with Bell's savings, sign 2-3 impact defenders under 30. The draft too needs to go heavy on D.
