Bryant recently requested a trade

thing is his agent is a idiot

Steelers aren't about to get rid of a starter as this team isn't in a rebuilding mode.
He has little to no trade value with one drug fail bring significant consequences.
Say in the off-season they listen to offers, knowing the Steelers won't get what he is worth to the Steelers why would they finalize such a deal?

Like Bryant and his GF, his agent isn't very smart.

It is like watching dumb and dumber meets cheech and chong.

Ben even eluded to the fact that Ian Rappaport was the same reporter that said he wanted traded -- which was 100% false ... duh

Maybe his agent should be telling Bryant to leave the field before the end fo the game/half. Because this team won't stand for someone leaving the field!!

Dumbest move ever cutting Blount for that reason. Should have been inactive until Bell got hurt.

Tomlin addressed this as well and mentioned about these stories coming from people close to the player or the agent.

'They felt he was a cancer to the team. It was the right move getting rid of him

“Martavis, I talked to him, he doesn’t want to go anywhere,” Roethlisberger said, via the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. “Sometimes things come from agents because they want what they think is best for the player and don’t realize that it ends up hurting the player.

I'm fine with deactivating a cancer, when you're in a run to win a Superbowl, and had no depth at RB by releasing him. It bit us hard when Bell got hurt, then insult was added to injury, as that CANCER won a Superbowl.

I will never defend that move. It may be the worst personnel move in Tomlin's tenure.

Cope, I think the reasoning was correct but the timing was WAY off. Any other time and his *** is gone but the SB run and you waive a QAULITY back up.........Naaaa

I seem to recall reading senior players wanted him off the team. Don't matter how good you are if your team mates don't want you there.

Just jumping back momentarily, looking at Browns miracle catch - I do believe the plan was probably for the WRs to clear out and for Bell to be the release guy to pick up the 1st. But Ben thought he saw something and pulled the trigger early. However I still agree that in a game that tight, in a situation that critical you want at least two receivers running some "catchable" routes rather than just clear out routes. Basically they had 1 viable route in that play. Unless there's a busted coverage or Ben / AB make a miracle play there isn't anything available but Bell there.

Poor play call in that situation. But, then again, I assume Haley figured the Chiefs would be playing the line of gain and maybe the deep guys would have a shot at getting open. It's a chess match I suppose. I would simply like to see (at this stage of the season and with Bell and JuJu / Bryant available as well as James) at least a couple guys running some relief routes.

But, what do I know.

Wig, the play was designed for AB, per Ben to get KCs #3 cb on AB, and if you watch Bell he's not running that route at full speed, thinking it's going to AB. The safety was suppose to bite more toward the middle but didn't, Ben was trying to go back shoulder because he couldn't lead AB.

Well then that's just bad discipline on Bell's part. That catch was more luck than anything. I mean yes, Brown spends hours and hours on the juggs machine for just that reason, but at the end of the day that was a tipped ball and if Bell was coming open late. If he breaks a bit earlier, maybe Ben has the confidence to wait a moment more and hit the easy yards for a 1st down.

They have just GOT to start taking the easy ****.

I hear you, but we're talking about an asset that was signed for that season and the following season. And since we released him, what did he do?

Won 2 superbowls and led the league in TDs for a season. You don't dump talent that you own with no backup plan. You make the guy sit the pine until he learns his lesson. I don't care who in the locker room liked the guy. If Bell can't play, and Blount is ripping off 100+ rushing downs with multiple TDs in the playoffs, I dare you to find someone in the locker room that would say a bad word about him.
