Same reason they haven't brought in a decent FA CB over the years I'm guessing. Seems a few have stated he has been released. We will see I guess. One can hope they will bring him in for a looksy.

The Steelers better sign some veteran DB because this secondary is a complete joke! Darelle Revis, Joe Hayden, TJ Ward......Brady will hang 50 on this secondary on Dec 17th if things don't change!

Heck I even think they are in trouble Week 1 vs Kizer the way they've been playing. Kizer will probably toss 5 TD's!
 
Maybe he will be an exception to the rule, but the reality is most players would easily shun a sure superbowl chance for a few more million... proven time and again... people still cannot accept that the vast majority of pros are in it for the money and winning is just a nice side benefit
 
I read that Haden wasn't 100% yet from his injuries last year. Not sure what to think of pursuing a guy who has been hurt the last couple of seasons. We need someone who is going to be on the field across from Burns and not an injury prone guy who won't help.
 
Browns are on the hook for 4$mil this year to him. We could pay him 3 mil and allow him to make 7 this year. Aditi K says Steelers are emerging as possible contender...for realz....
 
The highest the Steelers could go is 7 M as they like to keep a 2M cap room for any emergency.

Also there's the pending Tuitt contract extension that could eat from those 9 M

......Aditi reports haven't been sound in the past. Reporter fluff IMO. Beat writers who've been there forever seriously doubt Haden is even healthy.

Browns pay him 4 mil, so we can only pay him 3-4 if we like. Apparently many in he Steelers organization...including players...think he can still play.

If Schefter says we are favorites...I bet we are.....I think it may happen. We have to go for it. Can always move Gay to safety...which he has been practicing some. Put Sutton in slot, start Haden and Burns. Cockrell may get cut...I assume they keep Sensanbaugh.

I'm sure they have strong sources. But yeah until its done it means nothing. Can't sign until later today anyways. Would make week 1 that much more interesting
 
I'm guessing he will come to an agreement with some team before 4pm. After then he will be officially signed but we should have a good idea where he's going before 4pm.
