Browns get even thinner on OL

he lost his starting job midway through the season and then cut him in the offseason because he has a history of missing or being late to meetings and team functions. His on field production was pretty decent. Pat Kirwin was talking about it yesterday on his NFL radio show.

I somehow forced you to defend the Browns?

Did I have a gun to your head?

The Browns had a top 5 OL last year, but not now. Both OTs are below average.

Projected starting LT is none other than Greg Robinson, such a colossal bust (taken 2nd overall in the draft) that the Rams gave him away for a 6th-round pick. Yea, he is that bad.

But I guess he is going to suddenly get decent in his 5th year after sucking for 4.

The other OT is none other than our own undrafted Chris Hubbard. He's serviceable but will never be a top 10 RT. He is a below average NFL OT. He's not the road grader you wish to have at RT.

And they traded one of the best OGs in the NFL in Kevin Zeitler. If you think Austin Corbett is not a downgrade, I got some muffin tops to sell you, with some sprinkles of ting tongs.
My Alexa is smarter than you.

So I'm clear, Kevin Zeitler was the Clowns' entire offensive line and the reason they had the success they did in the 2nd half of 2018?
Losing Zeitler and replacing him with Austin Corbett has now sunk the Clowns' season and Mayfield will be getting killed like Ben did under Arians?

OK, straw man arguments lessen the quality of discussion. When did I ever assert the above? Read the TITLE OF THE THREAD. I said their OL depth was made thinner,
not that Baker will now be torn, limb from limb and the OL was completely worthless. Debate what was actually asserted, not what you change it to.

Greg Robinson is the "projected starting LT" because HE WAS the starting LT for the second half of last season, the final 8 games. Nothing changing here. But apparently Zeitler was doing his job AND Robinson's, too and now Robinson sucks because Zeitler's gone.
And because Robinson sucked in St. Louis in their scheme, it's unpossible for him to succeed somewhere else in a different scheme.
I mean, no player in the history of the NFL has sucked on one team and then went on the succeed with a different team ( please note the sarcasm as I'm laying it on thick ).

Hmmm, so you act as if Robinson had ONE bad season, and can easily go on to be great. Well, ummmm, he didn't have one poor season, he has had FOUR and was practically GIVEN away
(Rams got a 6th round pick). And you more than imply it was the Rams' "system" that made him suck. Umm, he's a LT. What "system" could make a LT suck? "Block the man in front of you, OK?

Make holes for our running backs and protect the QB on pass plays. I'm pretty sure the Rams' "system" wouldn't make a LT fail.

Going from Zeitler to Corbett probably is a downgrade. We'll find out for sure this season.
Corbett is 23 years old and was a rookie last year.
Zeitler is a veteran at age 30.

Zeitler is literally one of the best OGs in the NFL.

My guess is the Clowns saw Zeitler as capital they could use to upgrade another area of their team because they saw enough in Corbett that they liked and thought they could lose Zeitler with minimal impact. Also, they have a fairly young team and continuity is key with an offensive line. They probably see this as a way to keep the same unit intact for as long as they can and grow with their young QB/RB/WRs.
And they got Oliver Vernon in return for Zeitler. He's got 50 some sacks in his career, and will now be starting opposite of Myles Garrett? It's not like they gave away Zeitler for magic beans.

Well, it's not like I claimed they did. All I asserted was their OL depth got thinner. I never claimed that they gave away Zeitler for magic beans in any form. I merely pointed out that their #1 back up OT was now gone.
You went on to pick at thing I never even stated. Kind of odd.

No, not FORCED at gunpoint.
FORCED because of asinine logic devoid of facts and reality.

Hmmm, really? Funny that you never refuted any assertions that I actually stated. If my post was so devoid or facts and reality, I don't see where you addressed any such thing. All I see
is that you made straw man arguments and then disputed those. Kind of not the same thing. And I certainly never FORCED anyone to do anything.

I stated the Browns' OL got thinner. It did. I never claimed it was now a total dumpster fire, that Baker would be ravaged or that they gave away Zeitler for peanuts. YOU claimed I said
those things, but go back and look and you should be able to discern I never did any such thing.

Well, AZ was the 1st possible team who could pick him up on waivers. They did so. Not saying AZ is overflowing with OL talent, but the fact they were the 1st possible team who could grab him and did so says something about their perceived value of him. Yea, yea. AZ hasn't proven to be the brightest evaluators of talent, I know.

What's the prediction this year for you guys?

What's the prediction this year for you guys?

I seen them all over from 7-9 to 13 and 3.

The D will be better than last years version but we will have to wait and see the adjustment on the field at WR.

How did you like GB's draft?

We’ve got a “straw man argument” narrative.......Pop shows his favorite saying under another alias.

How did you like GB's draft?

I liked it. We drafted mostly defense which is what we really need. Our offense still is bad though.

I liked your Jace and Savage picks. Thought both had decent upsides. I did understand the Gary pick but one of the bigger question marks in the draft. Just not a lot of production there .

How good do you think we will be this season?
I liked the addition of ZSmith. I think your D has improved. The O will be a work in progress but AR will be hungry to turn that ugly season around. I can see 9 and 7. Or if Gary does anything noteworthy 10 and 6. As I said before not sure about him. But the talent is there. And a player can spark a team to a few more wins. But yeah leaning toward 9 and 7.

Apparently your mouse scroll bar doesn't go in reverse, or we should only read the title of your thread and not your mindless drivel in the body? Perhaps both? Aside from the title of the thread, you said :

The OL was already the biggest area of concern. Now it's even thinner. Ha ha ha
The Browns had a top 5 OL last year, but not now. Both OTs are below average.

Sooooooo, top 5 last year with Zeitler and backup Harrison and now not top 5. Perhaps you were only downgrading them to #6 after the loss of Zeitler and Harrison? Again, they have all the same starters from last year with the exception of Zeitler.

Hmmm, so you act as if Robinson had ONE bad season, and can easily go on to be great. Well, ummmm, he didn't have one poor season, he has had FOUR and was practically GIVEN away

He gave up ZERO sacks in those 8 games so apparently he did block the men in front of him pretty well. But it's a limited body of work in conjunction with the totality of his career, so we'll shall see if he can continue the same level of play.

Zeitler is literally one of the best OGs in the NFL.

You finally made a coherent thought. No dispute here. But he's not a better guard than Bitonio.

Fair enough. You did not claim that. Your responses seem to indicate, though that the loss of Harrison and especially Zeitler are cataclysmic and a severe blow to the Clowns' once top 5 O-Line.

Hmmm, really? Funny that you never refuted any assertions that I actually stated. If my post was so devoid or facts and reality, I don't see where you addressed any such thing. All I see

Funny, I've refuted everyone of your assertions with supporting FACTS, sans the "Zeitler is literally one of the best OGs in the NFL".
Everything else you've stated is complete poppycosh.

I stated the Browns' OL got thinner. It did. I never claimed it was now a total dumpster fire, that Baker would be ravaged or that they gave away Zeitler for peanuts. YOU claimed I said

No, but as I illustrate above with your words and not mine, you said it was :

the Clowns' biggest area of concern
was a top five O-Line, but not now, ha ha ha.

This was your opening salvo of this thread. You have made not a single supporting sentence on why a team returning four of its five starters from last year went from top 5 to to everything you wrote about them.

I never said you claimed "it was now a total dumpster fire, Baker would be ravaged, or that they gave away Zeitler for peanuts". Those are your words, not mine........See, I can be as ridiculous and retarded as you when I make an effort.

Good troll job, though. You hooked me. You forced me to defend the Clowns on our beloved Steeler message board.
When your mom brings your meatloaf, cheesey poofs, and Jolt down to you in the basement tonight, tell her how awesome you are and get that extra long hug from her.

If not you, someone said I said every one of those things, all things I never asserted.
