My thoughts on the meeting.
) Rooney didn't want to keep him, the meeting was mostly a good exit strategy. Teams don't like a hall of fame player bad mouthing them in the media. One day Brown might make the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
) Privately the Steelers internal management and coaching staff will be relieved when Brown is traded.
) Some Steelers will hold a grudge. Rooney and Tomlin need to make it clear not to talk about the diva on social media.
) Art Rooney II is really short. Standing next to Brown in the recent black and white photo, he looks 5'6" tall. Regardless of his height, he's not half the man the Art Rooney Sr. was ( the Chief ), or his father Dan was. That much is crystal clear. Art Rooney II is a soft-spoken man who sounds like a politician when speaks and only has the nerve to mention kicking as the reason for the Steelers underachieving. Art Rooney II is 66 years old. Based on how long his father and grandfather lives, Steelers fans are stuck with him for better or worse. I sincerely hope his successor, likely his oldest son if he has one, is a better owner than he is.
