Broncos QB's

Coach, the team cannot simply sign a guy and play him because the NFL has a mandatory waiting period for any player who was not part of the league - and not part of the league's mandatory testing - before being signed. Further, the QB who tested positive for the test, Driskel, did so on Thursday. The Broncos self-reported that Driskel was in close contact with the two other QB's on the team, including Drew Lock (the starter), and thereby subject to the 5-day quarantine, no positive test protocol.

So if the Donkeys had signed a guy off the street on Thursday, he would have been subject to the mandatory waiting period of five days, i.e., until Tuesday.

Is that your solution?

No, they could have had another QB on the practice squad which is now 16 players. I guess Roger doesn't like them much either, otherwise the game would have been moved.

EXACTLY! They failed to pick up a QB on the street and form a contingency plan. Who's fault was that? What are the practice squads these days? Last I checked it was 16 players.

Coach, read the post (#48) above yours, slowly. It answers your question fully. Thank you

EDIT: Had to get right post number for Coach as I didn't want to confuse him

they did have a practice squad qb..he was in the same meeting and subject to the same procedures.

It took 5 days for Avery Williamson to clear protocol to join our team. Any pickup for Denver would have had to have done the same, and none would have been ready for the Sunday game.
