Boo hoo....AB adds to the drama in Pittsburgh

The **** is getting deeper

Mike Tomlin acknowledges Antonio Brown was a no-show on Monday

During his weekly Tuesday press conference, Tomlin was asked whether Brown showed up on Monday.

“He was not,” Tomlin said. “I’m looking forward to visiting with him today and discussing that and other things.”

Tomlin declined to get into any details, including whether the absence was excused. Which clearly means it wasn’t.

The coach also said he’ll address Brown’s Monday “trade me” tweet with the player directly, explaining that he doesn’t believe that a press conference is the forum for talking about it.

Asked whether Brown has asked to be traded, Tomlin had one word: “No.”

Brown will probably he hearing more than one word from Tomlin, and it will be very interesting to see whether Brown’s recent misadventures on social media and elsewhere will end or continue.

Pay them whatever they want!

Maybe Tomlin will retire at half-time Monday night. . .

Bullshit - U pay offense, that's who score points, it's a simple game, really

So what's your point - Chickillio IS our defense, he played half the 4th qtr cuz our out of shape starters couldn't crawl on the field, and yeah that includes you Tuitt

Brown is just full emo right now. He will be fine in a few days.

Bell, Tomlin and Brown also share another characteristic, none of them are very bright

I’ve always said Todd Haley’s offense was the “our guys are better than your guys” offense. Which clearly benefits AB. I wouldn’t be surprised in the slightest if he misses the Toddster

42 points later and we are 0-1-1. Jax scored 45 on this very D three games ago. That's 108 points given up in three games(one including the Stains). Offense scores points, but DEFENSE wins championships. I'd rather have a balanced team than front loaded with two or three high priced stars and a bunch of mediocre jambronis. Do you know what the team could do with that $14.5M for the defense that Bell is supposed to get? Conner is just fine.

It's only going to end when his client stops being a distraction. AB brought this all on himself and his agent is delusional if he can't understand why it was magnified given the current status of the team as well as the ongoing drama with Bell. Showing up your coaches and team mates with your sideline tirades has no excuse. Despite what Tomlin and Drew may want to say, there are plenty of driven and professional athletes that raise the bar without acting like a toddler taking a tantrum. Maybe Drew should tell AB, if you want to make this go away then show up and do your job the right way. If you don't want it blown out of proportion you don't have your agent or PR person make statements on your behalf.

...then show up and do your job the right way.
Look, I'm not here to defend him, but some of this backlash is getting out of hand. I don't think there's another WR in the league that works harder, or sets a better example in practice than AB. Just saying.

Was he setting a good example on Sunday? Is he setting a good example on how to handle social media? Is he setting a good example when he did not show up yesterday? Was he setting a good example when he threatened a reporter? Was he setting a good example when he FB live'd when his coach was talking in the locker room? It is a continual pattern of immaturity and lack of leadership.

I agree Steeler Pride, that on those points, no he has not set a good example. I'm speaking of his off-season workout regiment, his excellent conditioning, his striving to be the best. He's a phenomenal 'worker' when it comes to the game of football. Off the field, he's got plenty of issues, just like a lot of other millennial superstars out there.

The problem is that after last year and now this year, it is becoming an issue on the field on Sundays when he apparently does not get what he wants. If this was only a social media issue I don't think it would be as big of a deal, but when you get into a spat on the sideline and then mention a trade on twitter it just brings on a huge storm and distraction. This team has become the team that we all used to make fun of when it was happening in Cincy, Cleveleand, Dallas...etc.

I don't think we're quite there yet. Winning a few games could make most - if not all - of this circus go away. The elephant in the room is the situation with Bell, but as far as I'm concerned he's not even a Steeler at this point. AB getting hissy on the sidelines didn't bother me a few years back and it doesn't bother me now. I agree with Tomlin it's best to just ignore all the social media crap, who cares about that? Now let's get this pathetic defense fixed and get back on track.

Steelers' Ben Roethlisberger: Antonio Brown doesn't want trade

Speaking on his weekly 93.7-FM radio segment, Roethlisberger responded to Brown’s controversial tweet from Monday morning.

“I don’t think he wants traded,” Roethlisberger said. “I’ll speak to him (Wednesday) and maybe I’ll have a different answer for you, but I think it’s the competitor in him, a guy who is still fired up. I think he enjoys being here.”

Brown’s tweet – the full context was “trade me let’s find out” – was in response to a tweet by former Steelers public relations staffer Ryan Scarpino that said the All-Pro receiver owes much of his success to Roethlisberger.

Roethlisberger, who does not have social media accounts, said Scarpino’s assertion was not true.

“I’m a much better football player because of Antonio Brown,” he said. “I owe him a lot of my success and many other players I’ve played with.”

SN yinzer mob............."Cut Ben for backing up Antonio!!!"

Maybe the rest of the team could learn from Ben and get the hell off social media during the season.

I do think part of this is the media making a mountain out of a mole hill per usual but they wouldn't have the ammo if AB would just lock his account for 22 weeks out of the year.

AB brings a lot of this garbage on himself. Him and social media are poison. He shouldn't feed the bear if he doesn't want criticized. I'd never deny is hard work on the field and his work ethic, but it's everything outside of the game he needs to chill. If it's not Bell, it's AB in the news and it's not all positive. This team is a three-ring circus.

He sets a great example with his work ethic. It's his on-field and social media antics that are out of hand. One would think he'd have learned by now but unfortunately that's not the case. Hope he turns this around though, because he is the best.

the players have to remember they are employees of the Pittsburgh Steelers organization. They represent the team, logo, colors and the Rooneys. I think some players need to be reminded of that. If it takes them a series, quarter, half or game to sit and gain perspective, then so be it.

AB no show, what did that prove except he is selfish. he is the best receiver in the league, fans love him, indorsements, Sunday he had 17 balls thrown to him, What is he proving, his love of the social media is making him look like a chump. Twice in one week the threat and the rant Sunday, just get in your car and go home is the best bet but the ego won't allow it. WE all are waiting to see how Tomlin handles this.
