Blame coaching if you want....

Ben was bad, but we could have overcome him. Every game against the Ravens the announcers talk about how many of these games come down to 3 points or less, yet they thought it would be genius to give away the first points of the game.

Isn’t it usually a strategy to shorten a game by running the ball to keep the other team’s high-octane offense off the field…NOT to keep your own high-octane offense off the field? How in the hell, do you allow your elite quarterback, the hottest offense in the NFL, the best receiving corps in the league going against one of the worst pass defense teams in the NFL to throw only 12 times in the first half? THAT’S FREAKING GENIUS! They won’t expect us to run, so we’ll run!!!! You sure showed them Tomlin. Williams had a very good day…99 yards rushing against a stout run defense.

If I’m Tomlin I tell Haley, “Get me 40 points!” Mallet might look like a pro-bowler against out D, but he’ll be lucky to put up 30 if we’re in a shootout. IDIOTS!

They should have come out throwing and let Ben get in a rhythm. When Ben tries to do too much he makes mistakes. Going up three on the opening drive would have changed the whole game.

Exactly. Set the tone for the entire game. You got a **** team across from you. You give them something to get going you are asking for trouble. They let the Ravens set the pace of the game.

It kind of reminded me what the Giants did to the Bills high powered offense in the SB. They allowed buffalo to run and kept the passing game in check most of the game.

On one hand, it's hard to criticize the early game plan because they were running the ball well.

However, they played right into what the Ravens wanted by neglecting the passing game on the first couple possessions, not getting a rhythm established as a result.

It was a mirror image of last year's Jets game: overthinking an opponent with a weak pass defense on the road,

Last week the Steelers employed the same defense as they did today in the first half. They got torched. Tomlin talked a bunch of nonsense about the criticism outside the facility. In the second half they played tight against the Broncos and gave nothing. The Ravens have no receivers and a walk on qb. You let him stand there and not jam the receivers and bring little pressure. He settles in and converts 3rd and short one after another. If someone can explain that logic to me I will lay off Tomlin.

In this game I would have said blitz often and make a inexperienced QB beat us

but

lets not kick a FG and take points off the board
lets continue ****** time management.
on O lets not tell Ben and Haley to shorten it up with them selling out against the pass.

And it is always something against teams the Steelers have no business losing to.....

Not to mention he went back to Blake because "he didn't want to live within his fears." Now we get to live without the playoffs most likely. Dumbass.

Would that be coaching?

Coaching again....

If Ben was not our QB is Tomlin still our coach?

Nope long gone. This team is a **** story. Even with the sorry as game we played on both sides of the ball we lost by 3 points. A field goal we passed on. We historically play these guys close for whatever reason. take the points.

Hmmmmm....coaching.

Any coach that feels Antwon Blake is our best chance to win at corner should have his head checked. I agree with others about blitzing Mallett - make him uncomfortable. I don't know about
others here but I would rather give up an 80 yard bomb on 1 play than see a 15 play 75 yard drive taking 7 minutes off of the clock. To me that is more demoralizing and really wears out
the line by the fourth quarter..

I disagree about whether or not MT would be here without Ben. He would and will stay here until he is so atrocious that the media and fans turn on him and the team. Like or not, and ***** all you want, but Rooney rule will keep him around much longer than he should.

Coaching....

I think it was on both sides of the ball..

A complete team loss.

I do not think this team was prepared for this game, no matter how you spin it.
This team was not prepared for this game today. There are too many games like this. I put this on the coaching staff.

And you just know the Ravens are going to get ******* destroyed next week.

Yet AB bobbled a TD catch. We settled for 3. Bryant dropped a pass late in the game. Then Wheaton dropped one on the next play. In the end the players lost it.

If Brown catches that TD, it changes the whole game. it's 7-7 instead of 3-7. Steelers would of had taken the momentum back. who knows what happens then

Yeah, I get that Punxsy, but I guess the overarching point I'm trying to make is...a strong running game shortens the game by eating the clock and reducing the actual number of possessions each team has a chance to score. With the Steelers' potent offense they should pass, pass, pass...essentially lengthening the game to give them more possessions and turning it into a shootout. Baltimore wouldn't be able to keep up, and Mallet would inevitably make mistakes. Instead, they decide to run the ball...even though successfully, but it limits the overall number of possessions, and those fewer possessions for both teams keeps the score lower. The more the Steelers O is on the field the better they get.

5th Raven win against the Steelers in the last 6 times these teams have played. If you can't beat your main competitor in your own division then it's time to think about another option.

They cant beat them because they are *******. They out physical us every time we try and play their style ball.

We let them pull us into the game they wanted. They dictated the way the game went because we were handled at the line of scrimmage on both sides.

They designed a game plan to kill our pathetic defense. Short passes with a good mix to keep them off balance and they executed because the QB was discipline and accurate.

Its this defenses kryptonite. They cant handle hurry up and off balance attack. They are pathetic, and so are we too think we could go anywhere with defense.

Defense wins championships is a saying because its true.

By the way to the guys saying " should have took the points " are the same ones who say " Ben should just call all his own plays"

Well he was the one who waved off Tomlin in a damn hurry on the field goal & Tomlin said OK Ben I trust you.

Who is running this team? Your biggest star & the longer he has Haleys ear the more this team looks like a Arians run offense. 3rd and 2 go DEEP.

His is not a smart decision maker. Baller yes..cerebral no.

This is Bens team and they go as he goes. Which is up and down.

Give him a defense and he can get it done, but they built this team around and for him. Its his offense that scored what 7 first half points? 10

that 4th down stop was huge. Could have used those three points they neglected trying to go for it. The game never felt right after that series.
