The coaching staff is not telling Khan what the players should be signed for. They are not telling Khan what an acceptable level of compensation is in a trade. Thats all Khan.

They may have said go get DK, but the 30 number and the 2nd is all Khan. Disagree 5 billion percent

Khan has done some good things but there are a few head scratchers in there. He's a mixed bag for me at this point.

I don't mind the Steelers actually paying guys, they are just paying the wrong guys. The young backups with great potential. (Herbig, Washington and Benton) and the old never were greats. DK and Pittman.

He's not a NT, but that is what Tomlin wanted him to be no matter how many times he got bullied in the middle of the line.

Inside pass rushers are worth their weight in gold in today's NFL, and Benton should be even better at it not being played out of position much of the time.

2023 was a pretty impressive draft class. Tomlin hit a homerun on it. Now cut Ramsey and sign Porter.

I don't see the Steelers cutting Ramsey this year. His cap number is under $20 million (19.5), and he is still a valuable interchangeable asset in this secondary. They can choose to move on in 2027 with zero dead money and full cap savings if he underperforms this season.

Porter's price tag continues to go up as Witherspoon just signed a contract averaging $33 million per year. $30 million is definitely the starting point of that negotiation now.

Agreed. Hes certainly not a 1 tech but maybe him and Harmon are the 3, 5 s when Heyward is finally done.

I'd get it done. Heyward and Ramsey will be off the books soon enough and we'll see what happens with Watt over the next couple of seasons. That would have the next generation defensive core locked up for hopefully a young QB.

Why? Weatherspoon is the top of the market, jpj is not there yet

Steelers are not paying a QB so they have time to sign these defensive players. Offense is still cheap.

Benton was miscast just like Hargrave was. I think this new staff will use him more to his strengths.

The Witherspoon contract may be what Porter was waiting for. That's the ceiling now. Steelers will likely offer a bit under that.

Some on here believe Porter would bring only a 2nd. And is only worth about $22 mill a season on a new deal. The NFL might see things differently though.

Wasn’t monitoring their possibilities. Each had playing time possibly factoring in.

With Porter being in the top tier at his position that triggered my curiosity.
