Having had multiple knee surgeries myself in a physical job, if he has the meniscus repaired, it will be no weight bearing for awhile and he'll be out at least 4-6 weeks. If they just trim some loose ends, he could be back within 1-2 weeks. My last knee surgery was having some torn pieces of meniscus removed. I was back on my feet the next day, zero pain, full mobility, just some squishing sound from the fluid still in the knee that took 3-4 days to dissipate. Let's hope it's just some trimming for Ben.

Torn meniscus, surgery tomorrow.

Ouch. Why did the Steelers medical staff let him come back to play?

I think are a .500 at best team without Ben. Maybe worse with this defense.

Fire Tomlin and everybody involved with having Landry ******* Jones as our #1 back-up QB!

This is complete bullshit.

Send Jarvis Jones' worthless *** to the Bears for Cutler

Roethlisberger described his knee as "black and blue" after the game, per NFL Media's Aditi Kinkhabwala.

"The dropoff from Roethlisberger to Landry Jones is as steep as any starter-to-backup transition in the league"

For whatever it's worth I believe that was his right knee, not the left one he had hurt on that play.

Ok, I read that last night, that his left knee was hurt but his right knee was black n blue. Looks like that was inaccurate, didn't make any sense anyway.

Time to talk draft I guess - the time has come to take a QB #1

If we finish 4-12 we should be right behind Cleveland again in looking for Ben's replacement, they will pass on our next QB for sure

Well stick a fork in this season. This party is over. Next year looks promising though. But so does every year....this team did not get a good backup player behind BB and now we're screwed.

Just throwing this out there. Send a 3rd rounder to Dallas for Romo if he is healthy in a few weeks? Dallas will probably stick with Dak and it gives Romo a shot to win. I think Jerry likes Romo and would like giving Romo a chance somewhere.

If Landry is not performing, then Romo could be a good short term solution who might serve as a good backup when Ben returns.

DUDE!!! are you on CRACK!!
never ever i dk if he's free

Go trump!

Get well soon Ben. ******* injuries every ******* year.. May be a blessing in disguise. Force the coaching staff to go to a offense built around Bell and running the ball. Which will help Landry and the defense. Trying to find a silver lining here..smh never seen a team get so many key injuries every year ****

Done. Another season wasted. Potential for home field and #7 now back to maybe a Wild Card or win a weak division.

One playoff win in 6 years. 5-11 against bad teams. The problem lies at the top, and this team will become the Browns when Ben is gone.

Just read it is not a full tear. Just a cleaning up procedure. Timetable unsure for return.

The source said doctors expect the procedure on Roethlisberger's knee to be a "cleanup," not a full repair of the meniscus, and this generally favors a quicker recovery. Said he will miss at least next weeks game. I'm holding out hope. If you pray get to praying.

The Steelers won't know how long Roethlisberger will be sidelined until after the surgery, but he will definitely miss at least next Sunday's game against the New England Patriots, according to the source.per ESPN

Stop with the "There goes the season" ****. Yes, next week is going to be a debacle. We knew that at the beginning of the year. It's my birthday dammit, and I don't want negativity today!!!

Best news possible, I guess

but until they get in there and starting cutting and scraping, there's no guarantee it's as rosy as they make it sound, it's more damage on the same knee he tore his MCL on

We were 4-1. We now face the Cheatriots without Ben. That puts us as 4-3. After the bye, we have the Rats and the Cowboys. We could easily go from a 4-1 team in the drivers seat to a 4-5 team on the outside looking in. Injuries are finally killing the team. We were short handed in some areas, especially on D and the injuries keep mounting. I'd be surprised if we do any better than 1-2 in our next 3 and that's just not good enough. We must beat the Rats out of the 3 games since it's a division game.

This is the same knee as last year. Maybe still some scar tissue in his knee. I have also read he could be back after the bye. But right know it's just guessing.

We are not losing yo the ******* Cowboys. I don't want to hear that ****.

Happy Birthday Lyn!

One year wiser!

Happy B'Day!!! The Pats**** kick our *** even with our starters. Now I just worry about beating our division opponents.

Well yeah....that's why I'm not really stressing about this. We have the bye after that, so that's 2 weeks right there. I worry about the Ravens, but like I said...the worst that could happen is we end up 4-4 and tied with Baltimore (and maybe Cincy). It's not over!!!!

Not to add insult to injury, but Ben has historically & consistently played like *** every first game back from injury too, so best case scenario, he's a real turd against the ravens in a couple of weeks.
