Ben is poised to throw for over 5,000 yards this season

It's amazing how well BEN plays and yet doesn't get the credit for it. He is the single biggest reason we are even in games. Our head coach has this "no losing season" stat while coaching BEN. I think BEN gives him that stat in spite of being coached by Cool Shades. When Ben is done, TOMLIN will face retire or ruin his "no losing season" stat.

Salute the nation

In truth.... so did Mike Shanahan without Elway.

Except we’ve been WAY worse without Ben playing than any Steelers team I’ve seen since 1980s.

Ugh

Ben will never get MVP consideration.

It’s a political media award. Political—not left vs. right; but media talking heads.

They play to the “hot story” — like Cam Newton in 2015. He was the least deserving MVP since McNair. But he was a story.

Ben is smart enough to make up for his youthful stupidity by not “promoting” himself.

I agree with this. Ben will never get the accolades that he deserves. Cam Newton couldn't carry Ben's jock.

Evidently, Ben isn't even the most valuable player on his own team.

Still -- just like the Drew Brees Saints, all those yards aren't equating to WINS. The Steelers are at their best with balance.

Yessir. Look at the rush totals vs. wins and it's all you really need to know.

I think Ben makes them supercede him to get another guy (and very deserving) to win the team MVP award. Ben was not all that likeable in his younger years but the guy has come a long way to being a true leader.

Anyways, just a take.

Ben wouldn't get a single vote even if they won both of those games by 20 points.

I don't know about that. The steelers would be looking at the 2 seed with back to back wins vs the Pats and Saints and Ben looking to throw for 5000 yards.

Since Gurley has been injured and tailed off, the MVP is pretty much down to Mahomes or Brees. Brees is mostly getting votes as a sort of lifetime achievement award and Mahomes has lost to most of the good teams he's played.

I do think Ben would be getting lots of MVP hype right now if they had won those 2 games. He has carried this team this year. No help from defense and with Conner injured, it's all on Ben.

I guess it's possible. There has to be a reason based on something other than performance.

The yards don't translate to wins because yardage can be misleading. It's all about points. Do the yards translate to points? The answer is not as many as the Steelers would have liked to get those wins.

They average 27.5 PPG. They are scoring points as they are 4th in PPG. The problem is that they have no balance on offense to salt the game away. The defense isn't helping either when they give up leads. They are 15th in points allowed. The HC doesn't help when he calls for stupid fake punts and playing Dobbs with a small lead.

The defense has given up 4 the quarter lead in at least 5 games this year, have given up at least 14 points in the 4th quarter in 3 or 4 games.
It's hilarious that people try to blame the QB for this **** show.

There is reasoning behind why Ben never gets consideration. And it's very good reasoning....meanwhile in another thread we are bashing AB and calling him a diva.....

Lol. That was a good laugh. Thanks for posting it. Just shows how clueless the talking heads are.

Except it’s dead accurate he’s not a liked guy
Who cares if he's liked, AB should be thanking him for the contract he has. Tomlin should thank him for Ben saving his job for so many years.

Actually it's Tomlin the ex receiver who has brought in the wideout talent including the best receiver in the NFL that keeps Ben in those high stats. Ben is Ben...Ben is not Brady, Ben is not Brees, Ben is not Rodgers. He's not elite, he's surrounded by elite talent including an elite O-line.....yet they will all probably be home watching the playoffs. Imagine Brady, Brees, etc. on this team.

Also in another thread Ben keeps Tomlin propped up by winning just enough to keep the team from having losing seasons and Tomlin keeping his job, and It's Tomlin's fault they suck in the playoffs......

How is that not also to Ben's credit? The playoff losses? The turnover ratio shows where a big part of the problem with this team lies, like I said I love Ben but I don't delude myself about him and what he is.

I forgot the numbers, but it's basically Steelers #1 in interceptions and fumbles in the playoffs going back x amount of years with many fumbles including a couple by Ben. It is what it is.

He went to two SBs with a soso O-line and pulled out a victory.

His overall body of work =elite.

LMAO, yeah Ward and Holmes were trash. Ben is elite because he makes WRs elite, how did Mike Wallace do when he left? AB averages like 4 catches and 37 yards per game when Ben doesn't play. Ben threw for 300 +yards @ Denver in the playoffs without AB. The same defense that shut Brady down the next weekend
Ben isn't elite, LMAO! This has a shot for most idiotic post of the year.

Maybe...maybe not. The older Ben is not the younger Ben. Most if not all the players on this team don't know what the old Ben was like.

BagAlonEy....................................... ****. Your argument is weak.

Ben Roethlesberger is what keeps this Coached team winning, NOT the other way around.................Miracle on ICe, again ****.
