Ben freaked out on Tomlin and Haley prior to 2nd Q TD

Yeah, a total **** the bed game. A 3 point win over Cleveland is a 10 point loss vs almost any other team.

I get doing a bubble screen if the defense is playing off ten yards to prevent you from getting over top. Yes, throw the bubble or quick out and take your 5 yards. Maybe you get lucky on a missed tackle and your receiver goes 25+ yards. Yes, it's ok to take what they give you. But when they are planning at the LOS you trust your receivers can get clean of the LOS and make the safety choose where they want to track or move them with your eyes or a pump and take your shots down field.

I am also fine with moving Bell out of the backfield and into a slot or out in coverage and try to get a LB matched up on him. Again, if you see something take advantage of it.

But I think Haley scripts his plays x amount of plays and he likes to do safe plays off the bat. I remember Holmgren did that also but he would throw a lot of different things at the defense so gauge how they reacted to each and then adjust his play calling from that. Haley seems to just wants to play it safe to not turn the ball over. Gotta trust your offense and your Pro Bowl QB, RB, and WR sometimes.

Ben was off his game. He over threw a lot of open guys and even though the passed weren't going to get us first downs it would have helped field position wise.

Bryant flat out looked awful. JuJu played like a rookie. Bell needs to kick the rust off. The offensive line looked offensive.

Our defense looked good up front but our secondary worries me. Haden was beat a few times and luckily the rookie QB missed. Safeties seem to leave the middle pretty open. Gay played too much where was Hilton?

those are my thoughts...
.

Just to let you know, HILTON was on the field for more plays than GAY was.

Our OL was bad with Arians. Period. Ben being Ben and making people miss and extending plays is why we won our SB. Again. Our OL was simply bad.

Absolutely, we had the worst offensive line for several years there. One more thing, the STEELERS won in spite of Arians. The "bruce" would call 7-8 second drop backs and our line could only give 3-6second protection...... WTF??? My one armed **** flinging monkeys were calling a better offense than the "bruce".

I know we didn't play well But maybe the Browns are not as bad as we think. They have been picking at the top of the draft for so many years. they have talent. I think they have good coaching now. this is going to better Browns team than we thought

On one 3rd and short, there was a clear audible by Ben. Run play, no first down. Did he yell at them for that, too?

He doesn't have to, everyone did enough bitching to last a life time when we'd throw on 3rd and short last year.

Clearly, when the safety gives you a 30 yard cushion you must throw a bubble screen. Don't we all know this by now? Or run your pie-eyed RB up the middle. Basic stuff...

That SB was won because of the D, not Ben. Speaking of which; you don't want Ben running the offense like many here think. I mean if you think Ben knows more than Haley and Tomlin you're a moron, case closed.

I'm not talking about you stillwright I'm speaking to the posters who think Ben can replace the OC.....ludicrous.

Elfie, who is smarter? Ben or Bradshaw? Hell Bradshaw called all of his own plays.

I agree with this. The Browns aren't going to suck forever. Their defense actually looks good. You never know right away when a team begins to turn a corner. We all thought Miami was awful when we lost to them. A couple months later, we were facing them in the playoffs. In 1970, a year after going 1-13, the Steelers faced the Browns in Pittsburgh. The Browns then, were close to what the Steelers are now, NFL royalty. The Steelers ran them off the field. Looked like a horrible loss for the Browns, but the woeful Steelers had finally turned the corner. The problem was, no one knew it at that time. All they knew was that the Browns had been whipped by the awful Steelers. Hey, the Browns may still be what they've been the last 18 years, just saying that you never know.

Haley and butler really are the Achilles heals of this team. We simply aren't going to get better talent wise colbert has done all he can do... ya injuries can effect us... but all things considered the time is now... Haley and butler have to dial it up... Sunday butler did and Haley didn't... every Sunday we'll see cause we aren't going to play many if any teams with more talent than us... haley seems to be completely on or completely off in his game plan and is horrible at getting a feel for the game and correcting the plan as the game goes. when he does make changes it's too late. under him the offense is jeckel and Hyde like. I think he simply takes the ball out of bens hands too much where Aries let Ben go too much. Haley treats Ben like a third string qb. He better figure it out because Sunday the offense really struggled.

I really think some of yall think this is Madden or Chess..a good call can look bad if not executed. The first screen call picked up 7 yards. Called back because of holding. That could of been 2nd and 3 and a good start to things. One of the screens i thought Bryant misread his block and should have followed James. The offense will get better

Our offense always seems to start slower than the defense, that cohesion thing - which is good and bad in our case

The last 3-4years the offense seems to look like a Chinese fire drill for chunks of the season. The only thing you can count on is Antonio Brown. He pretty much was the offense vs the clowns.

EVERYONE on the coaching staff BEST "dial" it up come this Sunday.......... Minnesota is going to be a LOAD for this team, home game or not. Our STEELERS can do it. We need to hold them and keep giving the offense the ball. Like against the Browns our guys got better as the game progressed. We will start out a notch or two above how we started with the Browns but will need the game time to get the O to elevate as needed.

Don't worry. Last night's victory notwithstanding, Sam Bradford sucks. No way he puts two good games together in a row.

Plus we have the advantage of the Vikings having to play and travel for an away game on a short week!

Bullshit! We almost LOST that super bowl because of the Defense. Are you smoking crack or is your memory that bad. The defense gave up the long TD and BEN saved the day. His scrambling, running for his life, and PUMP FAKES, won the super bowl. Santonio got the MVP, but it clearly belonged to BEN! The defense got us to the big dance, but almost gave it away. Ben brought it home.

Yes it was. Poster Ike Kelly is out to lunch...We had a very bad OL under Arians, Ben was running to escape damage too often, and hardly enjoyed the time he gets now.

I'll make this quick and easy for Ike and others who might think otherwise. Haley has a much better OL and much better skill players.

Airans 2008 offense, which made the lwoB repuS

Haley's 2016 team

https://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/pit/2016.htm

Arians OL

OL

LT Max Starks
LG Chris Kemoeatu
C Justin Hartwig
RG Darnell Stapleton
RT Willie Colon

Haley's current OL

Villanueva
DeCastro
Pouncey
Foster
Gilbert

>>>As you can see Haley had a much better OL for both run blocking and pass blocking. Haley's OL has at least 4 better starters.

Arian's skill players

Parker - Worn down.
Holmes - A good player
Ward - A great player
Miller - A very good player.

Haley's skill players

Bell - A great player
Brown - A great player
James - Below Average TE
Byrant - A very good player

>>> Once again Haley has the better here, not by much, but better.

Easily. Ben's play was about as good as it gets in tat super bowl.

You are undervaluing Parker, who was undefeated as a playoff starter, and Holmes, who was the reason why we won each and every game in that SB run. He looked like a dominant WR and made a big play to score in each of the games, to give the steelers victories in each one.

also Ariens' teams benefitted from a dominant defense, which Haley has yet to see.

Someone needed to be upset. We looked as if this was a preseason game. We truly were fortunate we came home with a win. We need some vocal leaders.

We are talking about the offense here. I liked Parker. Parker had a short prime and Mendenhall outside of one season was mediocre. Haley had a much better OL, and a better group of skills players to work with in comparison to Arians.

I am not disagreeing with your statement, it's just the offense and offensive line, wasn't the reason why we got to and won the Super Bowl.

The Defense was a huge part of it. So by saying Arien's offense won the Superbowl, you also have to take into account, the top ranked defense that got them there and gave that team the 14pt swing needed to win that game.
