Ben, Brown and Bell made a bad coach and team look good.

Steelers will be staring up at the Ravens and Browns balls in the AFCN for a very long time

Steelers are the new Factory of Sadness going from 13-3 to 3-13, nah, superstars don't matter, lol

Doesn't matter now, we were in the talk, Steelers won't even be in a playoff hunt for a decade, let alone SB talk, that could take another 20 years when they find another franchise QB

Jaylen Samuel has always looked better than Conner to me. I just dont get these coaches. Snell must have been injured in the preseason. That damn burst on that one run looked like Kentucky Benny Snell. Snell is a leader we need guys for their physical contribution and their leadership. You can not sleep on a mans leadership qualities.

The coaches saw that long run and promptly put him on the bench. What a brain trust we have.

I get it Spike. I get all the Tomlin hate. I get all the negativity. I also understand there's ample reason to feel that way. I'm just wired differently. Following the Steelers for me has always been a positive thing, helps me relax, actually forget a little bit about the 'real world.' I'm a full-on homer and I know it. It's just been my attitude and relationship with the Steelers for decades now.

It was that way during the Kordell years, through the ups and downs, including the disappointments of the past few seasons. I don't ignore or disregard the negative aspects of the team, including Tomlin's shortcomings. I'm not happy at all with Tomlin and his coaching staff, and the miserable end to our recent seasons. But I do choose to look past it, and root for the squad we have, the players we have, and yes, the coaches we have. I've called for Butler to be replaced, but as long as he's here, I'm also hoping he'll figure **** out and get this defense straightened out. Same with Fichtner, and Tomlin as the head coach. As long as they're here and leading this team, I will go out of my way to support them. The second they're gone, be it superstars like AB, Bell, or the head coach, I'll turn the page and focus on those that are here. I simply want this team to compete hard, play tough D and win games. I love the black & gold with a passion. I love the draft, free agency, the game prep leading up to the weekends, look forward to the match-ups, seeing whatever slight improvement that can be gained as the season goes on.

In summary, I'm a fool and a sucker for all things Steelers. I don't see myself changing in the foreseeable future.

Q: Do you have any messages for Steelers nation?
JuJu: Stay with us. Stay positive. Let’s keep moving forward. It’s going to be a great season. Don’t leave us out yet. We still have conference play and a lot more games to play.

When I read this, it gave me chills, kid you not. That's exactly my attitude, circle the wagons and go into battle. I want the team - now faced with the peril of losing Ben - to rally around Mason Rudolph, rally around Fitzpatrick on D, and start winning ballgames. Nothing else matters to me, as far as what happens down the road, who gets hired or fired, what players or coaches come or go. It's all about the 2019 season, as far as we can take it.

He's already got several families so your welcome to have him. Make sure he pays up front for any services rendered.

Salute the nation

They didn't want to be here. Whether it was the coaches, players or culture doesn't really matter, you can't force people to do something they don't want to do.

There was never an SB in the future as long as Tomlin is coach. As far as "You can't force people to do something they don't want to do", an owner with a pair would have made an example out of AB and traded him to Buffalo for a 7th round pick and told him he could play or sit.

They could have sent him home for conduct deferential to the team. He wouldn't be a pat***** and could throw his tantrums at home. You also wouldn't have $21 million on the cap this year.

I'm betting I'm in the running for a bigger fool, I signed up for another 12 months of DirecTV so I could get Sunday ticket to watch all the Steelers games, I just can't help myself, lol

We may be in opposition in that "other" forum but we agree pretty wholeheartedly here.

I'm no fan of our coaching staff, or current ownership for that matter, but that was very well said from a true Steeler fan.

Great post, Tibs. Right there with ya.

While I love Tibs' optimism and enthusiasm re: the team we all love, I can't help but be really down on Tomlin & the coaches right now. It's not like we don't have the players. Hell, multiple people have posted we have like 9 of 11 starters on defense all selected in the 1st round of the NFL draft. I know Bud Dupree has mostly been a disappointment, but can we put some of that on coaching?

I knew after losing AB we'd obviously have some growing pains in the passing game, but we also have a HoF QB who knows how to spread the ball around. I was pretty excited about this team because they seemed really focused during training camp, they looked pretty dang good during the preseason (granted, mostly 2nd stringers against future grocery baggers) and they just had this chip on the shoulder type of mentality that I thought was going to manifest itself a little differently than what we've seen.

That's all on the coaches IMO. The coaching has been horrific. I can't get past it.

Again, Tomlin and this set of coaches - and players - is what we have. This is the here and the now. I'm not worried about if and when we can replace our head coach, I'm hoping he's got a plan to win this game against the 49ers.

Oh I hear you, and I know they're not going anywhere anytime soon so I'm not bitching about getting rid of them or anything like that -- just stating my opinion on the situation as I see it. I wish I had your outlook right about now. Again Tibs, always appreciate your thoughts and optimism re: this team. And these highlights you post, geez, they look like future HoFers! Lol.

For sure. :) Limas Sweed highlights from Texas were through the roof, as were Dri Archer's. Hey, pull up a chair and pour one out for what a ******* dynamic player Dri Archer was in college. Looked like he could have been a Tyreek Hill. I totally understood and appreciated drafting him. You gotta roll the dice, you can't foresee the future, it's not set in stone. The guy simply blew past players trying to tackle him, with 4.2 speed. Why not take a chance on him? Too bad the kid never made it in the NFL. /ducks for sniper fire

Considering that in 13 years he's won something like 2 games on the west coast, ever, a plan to win would be good.

Brown and Bell did not make this Team. ALL the players working together did and Bell was just trouble. Brown was becoming a giant baby because he had to share the spot light. Injuries happen so STOP PUTTING MY TEAM DOWN. If you are unhappy go celebrate some other team but leave here.
Bell Made this line look good, turns out, they aren't.
Been saying it all offseason, Now ALL of the talent has left the building.
Ju Ju is a solid slot reciever, James Conner is journeyman level talent.

Calm down, it's early in the season.

No one has a clue has it's all going to shake out.

One of the differences in the the Seahawks game was the pressure In the first half Tuitt was dominant. Second half not so much. The scheme didnt get Tuitt his sacks in the first half and the scheme didnt limit his sacks in the second half. He stopped making plays. No pressure and two refs calls and Moncrief miscue were huge in that game.

There aren't many defensive players who are going to be that dominant throughout the entire game, especially when Seattle dominated the time of possession.
