Ben and AB having relationship problems. .

the redskins were the only team stupid enough to single cover AB, of course that was the first game of the season, after that every DC learned not to

I disagree, it's kinda visible if we lose and his stats are good that he's not bothered and if we win and he didn't have too many receptions he's kinda pissed off (remember last year with Vick at QB).
AB wants every pass on every play to be thrown to him whether he's open or not (he always thinks he's open), but that's how you be great.
Ben and Hines Ward weren't besties either.

I hear you Ron. AB does want to be the first WR to break the 2k yard mark. He's a little miffed that he's significantly behind the average needed to attain it. AB wants to be the best ever. Not the best in the league. He wants to set records. I love that in him. I don't think it will ever get to the point where he will become a malcontent though, if he doesn't hit those goals this year.

Lol - I figured as much from some of the responses.. and slashsteel saying he doesn't read much into this. It's coming from the most reliable source in Pittsburgh media.

I need to go back and watch again but on our last TD to Coates, I don't remember AB ever come over and congratulate him, it appeared he just went to the sideline, but like said that was live, I need to watch DVR.

He did. I specifically watched because you could see Brown was a little moody and I wasn't sure that he was going to.

Brown's star status exploded last year with his stats and appearance on Dancing with the Stars, but there is something up. He isn't producing at the same level as last year and the big plays haven't been there. He fired his private chef, who he seemed to have a great relationship with. Although promised, he is once again without the big contract extension that he has earned. That said, DK has been overly dramatic about this type of stuff before and until we see or hear something more definitive, I'll just take the approach of it is what it is. No doubt Brown loves the attention and stats, but hopefully he realizes, either now or one day, that winning a Super Bowl is so much more important than the individual accolades.

Chef Niko was a heroin addict before he got cleaned up.. never did find out why AB fired him.

Did any of you happen to read my post or the entire article?

I read your post, not the article cause I didn't want subscribe. AB comes off as a bit of a prima donna, I don't think that should come as shocking news to anyone. Is there something else I'm missing?

Ben and AB aren't hugging nowadays.

I see no issue here at all. Ben is going to Coates because he is open. There is no need to force the ball into AB when Ben has a large amount of weapons.
Does AB want a huge year in a contract year? Probably, yes but as long as we're winning I don't think any of this he say, she say stuff is an issue.

True or not. Not shocking. Even HW had some WR drama action once and awhile. Call it great people at the position being drama queens. My hope is he understands the better the other WR and teammis around him, the more open he will be and the better he can be

My issue with Brown is, for being a WR who leads the league in so many statistical categories over the past three or fours years, he whines WAY too ******* much.

I'm kind of getting tired of the guy, despite what a great player he is.

One would think he is being totally deprived of receiving opportunities, relative to his talent, given how much he blatantly ******* and moans at least once or twice a season.

Roethlisberger is more than justified in being irritated with Brown, as this has being going on off and on for a few seasons, while Brown has been putting up video game type numbers during that span.

Kind of getting tired of the guy?

Good God...

They did a little hand shake thing together.

Yep.

Every season he's on pace to either lead the league in catches and yards or be close to it, yet he's always complaining about not getting the ball enough.

At least I'm tired of hearing about it, as is his QB, apparently.

If I'm not mistaken I saw them with arms around each other at the end of the game? I searched for pics but couldn't find any.

Without Brown, our receiving corps would be about 55% less effective. The biggest reason the #2 and #3 receivers on our team are becoming household names is more than likely because the #1 receiver is double covered every snap and a fire blitz sent on his side just for good measure.

Every great WR does this. Even Swann and Stallworth had a rivalry with each other. Both vied for Bradshaw attention. It's part of the make up of being A great WR. They feel they are open on every play. QBs pay them no mind. At least the great QBs are able to tune them out.

then go root for the browns, I hear they have an up-and-comer in terrelle pryor. hopefully he meets your church mouse standards.

What AB wants the ball more? He's getting double covered a lot and is still getting quite a few catches. As Coates, Wheaton and the TEs get on track they will create more opportunities for AB. If we can get Green on the field even better. Having Bell catch all those balls underneath will also create more opportunities for others. Pick your poison.

If he's upset that his custom shoes are being picked on, then he needs to get approval of the league to wear his shoes so its not a side show. Sorry AB, love you as a player but the team needs you to do your job and not be a distraction. We don't need Dez Bryant or OBJ headcases when we have a greater goal to attain.

he still is far away from being a distraction. He went to training camp, practiced as hard as always and he's being even mentoring young WRs. Add to that that he's a clean-cut guy with no off the field issues and then we can sleep happy knowing we have a great player and a great person. Is very hard to ask for any more

As long as it's not a distraction, Ben said on his show today when AB was approached by the refs during Bengal or skins game about him changing his shoes or he'll be ejected, AB came to Ben for advice.

Yes, without Plaxico, without Holmes, without Wallace Ben would suck... wait. I think Ben has a lot to do with receivers in Pittsburgh looking good.
