This is some excerpts from DK's article. It's a paid article so I can only post some.. but the rest is at this link

http://dkpittsburghsports.com/2016/...ng-right-roethlisberger-brown-still-not-sync/

But I will get worked up over this: Something’s weird right now between Ben Roethlisberger and Antonio Brown.

Really weird.

And more than a little unsettling, especially in the context of what those two — individually and as a connection — represent to this football team’s increasingly legit Super Bowl hopes.

AB was fine, too, at least superficially, with nine catches on 11 targets, 78 yards and a touchdown.

Something’s amiss, though, between those two, both during play and between plays, and it would be foolhardy to the extreme for anyone to ignore it any longer..

Or AB barking up a storm on the sideline after Ben misfiring on two passes to other receivers on the next series.

Or Ben visibly ticked off at AB for running the wrong route in the red zone, which led directly to him holding the ball too long and losing a fumble.

Or Markus Wheaton, of all people, maybe the most introverted player on the roster, apparently giving it to AB a little later.

There’s much, much more, too, that we as a staff have seen and heard.

It’s a real thing. It’s an increasingly ugly thing.

And the blame for that, beyond any doubt, falls on AB.

Seems like AB is getting a little too big for his britches all the sudden fame on the dancing show, etc. Ben made a point of saying after the game that it is all about winning and not about anyone player's stats.

It "appears" to me, a layman, that Ben has been working pretty hard to feature Coates lately. Now, whether that's cause the matchups allow it, or because there's a master plan to force teams to really pick their poison in the next couple weeks, I don't know - but Sammie's getting LOTS of looks.

Might be less to it than the article implies or states. We have seen these things before where the media is making mountains out of molehills. Things said in the heat of the moment are likely not a big deal and might be nothing more than the competitive nature of a couple of great players showing up in poor light.

Ben is what like 5th in passing, AB is like what 5th in receiving?

And AB is like what tied for first in TD receptions?

I put zero stock in those type of reports...

Gossip is as gossip goes........... What and If anything is happening will be handled internally. BR has matured enough to handle something of this nature. Take the one long shot off Coats and he has less than Brown. If Brown is running consistently wrong routes then he will get the ball even less. Economics 101. I think this is a non-story currently.

Salute the nation

I can see there being an issue with AB. With all the theatrics he has done lately it isn't a stretch either.

You don't have to like, or even get along with everybody you work with. As long as you can put it aside professionally, you'll be OK.

I have definitely noticed AB getting a lesser share of the targets, but I'm not sold it's because of issues with Ben. Things happen. Ben is smart enough to understand that the more defenses respect our other weapons, the more things will open up for everybody.

I think you nailed it there. Especially since they kept throwing to him after all the drops.

AB has always had a little " hey look at me " attitude. Follow his antics through the years and there's no surprise that his concentration would slip now and then. On the other hand, imagine the stats he could amass if he had a Stallworth demeanor. He's already a hard worker, dedicated to training and practice, he just has that 'ME' sammiched into the team concept a bit. It is what it is, everybody has a personality and I guess I'll take what I can get from a gifted player that doesn't miss games due to drugs n'stuff.

BTW..who's winning the bet and does that have anything to do with the situation during the Jets game?

I have to say the thought has crossed my mind several times. Cant really see all the sidelines stuff on TV but I have noticed a few things between the two on the field that made me wander. I think I really started noticing it in the Cincy game.

Maybe AB's theatrics aren't setting well with Ben and if that's the case I have to agree this attention getting dance and designer cleats thing is getting old.

He needs to understand that him getting all the attention in the secondary is going to open up opportunities for the other guys and that is just as important as his TD's and 100 yard games.

The reason why Ben is going to Coates? He's single covered, and open.

AB has been bracketed pretty hard the past couple weeks. 2 men to stop AB, and he's still getting TDs. If Wheaton can catch up to game speed, this receiving corp is the best we've had with Ben.

AB and Coates are 6th and 7th in the league in receiving yardage. AB leads the league in receptions and receiving TDs. Bryant leads the league in receiving average (for players with 10 or more catches) at 22.2 yds per catch. AB also leading in first down catches.

Jessie James quietly tied for 7th in the league with 3 receiving TDs.

Ben is killing it. 3rd in yardage first in TDs. This is a special year for Ben.

If we were losing games, AB could talk. His best game of the year came with a loss, so what do you want AB? Wins or stats?? I know for a fact, AB wants to win.

I disagree, it's kinda visible if we lose and his stats are good that he's not bothered and if we win and he didn't have too many receptions he's kinda pissed off (remember last year with Vick at QB).
AB wants every pass on every play to be thrown to him whether he's open or not (he always thinks he's open), but that's how you be great.
Ben and Hines Ward weren't besties either.

WR's are generally head cases. Even the great ones like AB. At the game yesterday I saw no one gets more love than AB. He also got a lot of love from the Jets as in safety help behind. If this actually is an issue I suggest AB pulls game film from his weeks with Vick and Jones and consider where his money would go if that was his QB.

Ben had issues with Ward too. Star WR's are often diva's. I do not think Brown is one to the determinant of his team, though.

I need to go back and watch again but on our last TD to Coates, I don't remember AB ever come over and congratulate him, it appeared he just went to the sideline, but like said that was live, I need to watch DVR.

Coates said there was a time during the game when he got down on himself, maybe after the fans gave him a mock cheer when he made a 22-yard catch in the third quarter.

“I understand that. That’s part of it. I left a lot out there.” Coates said encouragement from Roethlisberger and Brown helped bring him back into the game.

As long as they leave it on the sideline. Coverage has been rolled towards AB a lot this year and I think Ben is pre-snap reading it. If Coates starts to play well that could lead to more opportunities for AB. I am sure AB is "open" every play but it is Bens job to find the open guy and Coates was either single covered or wide open every time Ben threw his way.

He leads the league in receptions and he's tied for the lead in TD's. Evidently someone is throwing him the football regularly. WR's seem to be the biggest whine *** position in football for whatever reason. He's a great player, I wish he would just play ball already and leave all the silly **** alone. We were around the back gate when all the players came out, and he left about as quick as you can without running and never even looked up. If he's pouting after a win where he caught nine passes and a TD, then someone needs to pull him aside and remind him why they're on the field. If other guys are open they'll get the ball too.

I'm guessing like any great WR he is vocal about wanting the ball more and then when Ben forces it to him and it doesn't work out that's an issue. Nothing out of the ordinary I would think.
