Bell’s Agent: Read Between The Lines

I hope this gives the Oline extra incentive to block for Connor and whoever else.

Might be surprised. They might actually be better not having to hold a block while the back dances around looking for a hole.

Conner will just hit it.

Troy was my favorite player to be sure, however the team always comes first. Players come and go, even Troy, but black and yellow is timeless. Besides #43 would have never behaved like this.

Bell's style when first introduced to the NFL made quite a splash in his favor. A season or two later the defenses have caught on as last year you could see "Ds" playing more patient with him running. His low average per carry is testament.

Conner has shown good ability in pre-season and I'm pulling that translates to regular season. Will he be an exact replica of BELL. I hope not but all he has to do is 70-80% and that will surfice as we have others who can step up and our NEW OC's scheme is way different than surfer haley to dumb to use other weapons offense. Right personal match ups and NOT just handing off the the RB.

I'm sure the real focus of his agent was to try to get the team to cut him a large portion of his salary for this year in a chunk. Steelers said no, and figured he'd show up anyways. Next week, his move is probably to show up if he gets the full 14.5M salary still. They'll probably say no to that. Before week 3 it'll be he'll show as long as he gets paid for 14 full games. That's when he probably works something out.

People here value way too much. For a telling sign of how much he is valued, just look away the Vegas numbers. They did not move with Bells hold out. Meanwhile with the Mack trade both teams involved had their odds change.

I think the best the Steelers can hope for is that if he shows up for week 10, deactivate him for games 10 and 11 (they don't have to pay him), pay him the 900K for the final 5 games (4.5 million), let the season end, he signs with someone and take the 3rd round comp pick. Unfortunately, I think that's the best they can do financially at this point. If he shows up Saturday, you deactivate him for games 1 & 2 (save 1.8 million) and hopefully, he can work himself into shape and contribute to the final 14 games plus any playoffs, let him walk and take the 3rd round pick.

Of course, the 3rd round pick is actually a 4th round since all teams have to make their 3rd round selections before the comp picks are awarded.

It's a shame it came to this, I thought that Ben, Antonio and Bell were going to be remembered with as much fame as the triplets but it is not to be.
