Agreed he won’t make up the money he’s currently losing in his current holdout with his next contract
Also - is protecting his body really *that* serious? The only way he takes a serious hit on his next contract is if he suffers an injury so catastrophic it puts his career in jeopardy. He could tear his ACL this week and recover in time for next season. Does he think he’s gonna get paralyzed or something? I mean what are the odds of that and is the possibility really worth burning all these bridges?
And why is no one acknowledging the possibility that his willingness to burn his current team might factor in to the amount of money other teams might be willing to commit to him? I mean.. talent like that is worth a lot, but if he is a holdout risk, a suspension risk, etc then his availability and commitment to football/winning is in serious doubt. That has to affect a guy’s value and nobody can convince me that isn’t true.
Bottom line is Le’Veon is about making the big splash headline with the big money deal. If it were about making money he’d be on the field right now getting paid for 2018. He just wants to make the splash and be famous for how huge his contract is. It’s sad
