I think Bell deserves to be the highest paid rb in the league... and he is... I don't think any rb anywhere is worth qb money... lets face it they don't judge you based on how great you are, its how big a dropoff from you to the league average guy they can replace you with... and rb isnt worth that much even if he can line up at a wideout...
plus most RB s are done by 29 or 30 and i am sure he wants paid big until mid 30s or so...

Im fine with them offering him 15 per for a few and walking away if he wants more long term... trade him to somewhere he will be overpaid and happier

This is older, but there is no correlation between paying a top back top money and super bowl success... you can draw a line on who spends money where and figure out what positions are key... a top notch Qb is almost a must for winning a super bowl... without one you had better have a hell of a solid team in every other position... you don't get that kind of team handing out QB money to rbs... Bell is free to demand whatever, but if he is turned down, its not a slight... they are clearly offering him the largest rb contract in the league right now, they just shouldn't overpay for a guy who hasn't even shown he can win a super bowl yet...

Again, to emphasize the “gone the Miami route that they did with Landry”, indicated they had a fallback option. Kenny Stills, and Devontae Parker. They can let Landry go, because they have players comparable to replace him. Heck, didn’t Stills have close the same receiving yards as Landry?

Who do we have behind Bell right now who can give some semblance of production? No one. So the “Rooney’s” Dan even, would be doing exactly what’s being done. Plus they have info that none of us have either.

As been mentioned by numerous folks here, Tagging a player doesn’t mean a trade will happen. Bell has to sign the Tag, and Pitt wants comp commensurate with his talent. Pitt wants Bell, because of his value in this offense. He’s tagged exclusive, so the comp is 2 no. 1 picks. It’s in the CBA. So the tag cost is worth keeping him in the plan UNTIL there is an alternative available. If you think those on the FA list can produce like Bell did, it’s no wonder you comprehension skills are nil. Answer this genius, how many first down catches and carries did Bell produce compared to the FA? Might I add, they don’t have the cap room even to sign the top even if they cut Mitchell or restructure someone else.

I am not saying our OL isn't one of the better ones, but they excel in pass protection more so than in run blocking. You have issues when you can not get an inch running the ball.

I'm not going to say Bell isn't a talented back, he's likely in the top 5 in the league on almost anyone's list...but SB winners generally have a franchise QB (check) and a D that can get you through the better teams O's you will face in the playoffs (need improvement to get there). We simply can't pay the years, guarantee and total salary he is going to want. He perceives himself to be worth a crazy deal that would prompt me to drug test his *** to see what the hell he is smoking. HE IS NOT WORTH THE 7-10 million more than the 2nd highest paid back in the league. The ludicrous notion of resetting the RB pay scale needs to leave his smoke filled head. No RB is worth what he feels he is worth. Signing him to the deal he feels he is worth would keep us in cap hell for years after Ben is gone.

So should we risk the years 3-5 or 3-6 of the contract he wants to try to snatch a SB victory before Ben retires? We haven't won yet with the "killer B's" so I would not go all in on a 2-6 to win this year or next to appease Bell's insane perception of his worth.

What was the the fall off in ypc when a vet min pulled off the scrap heap (Ridley) and given 1 week to practice started toting the rock. It sure seemed he was getting close to the 4 Bell was giving. I'm not saying Ridley can even hold Bell's jock, but I wouldn't gamble and say Bell is worth 15-16 million a year more than the scrap heap RB.

Actually, I don't comment on EVERY post/thread that Coach makes. That would be time consuming. However, when he posts something absurd or stupid, I point out a few things. As do many others. Have you reprimanded any of THEM for commenting on Coach's posts? Nah .... thought not.
