Bell Reinforces Sit Out After Steelers Place Franchise Tag

At this point I would honestly tell his agent this is what we want in compensation for a trade. If you can find your number with a team in that ballpark lets talk. Are you allowed to do that?

Going into the season the top 3 RB's were considered to be Bell, Elliott and David Johnson.

For the first 4 weeks, those players stats were:

Johnson 11 rushes for 23 yards (~2 ypc), 6 receptions for 67 yards. Out for the season during game 1
Elliot 76 rushes for 277 yards (3.6 ypc) and 16 receptions for 118 yards (7.4 ypc)
Bell 87 for 294 (3.4 ypc) and 14/83 on receptions (5.9 ypc)
Gurley did quite a bit better than all three

Johnson and Elliot were in camp. Bell was less than 0.3 yards off of Elliot for yards per rush and 1.5 in yards per catch. I don't think that is significant enough to declare that being in camp was going to push Bell over the edge in those few games. That doesn't meant it DIDNT affect him, just that the effect of being in camp didn't significantly boost those others.

unless I am remembering incorrectly, the OL was playing pretty poorly early in the season. In two of the first 4 games, Ben had less than 7 yards per pass attempt in 2 of the first four games.

If he quits football to pursue his music career...................he'll be broke in 3years, like it or not. It's his football paycheck that is paying for this "music" and not the other way around. His music isn't sustaining the cost of production etc.etc.etc.

Oh sure, he won't show up for game checks.

If I were Rooney I would trade him fast. Trial it with some teams via tag and trade ( got that Ike ) then send it to Bell's agent for approval. If nobody bites, withdraw the franchise tag and spend 14.5 million in free agency.

I guaranteed you whomever the Steelers use as primary if Bell departs will average 4.0 or better per rush for the season. 4.0 yards per rush is what Bell did last year.

Man you are an idiot. They are not going to trade him unless they have a someone in place first. You don’t get rid of your best horse and hope you find something on par or better before the race. You have a succession plan in place before dealing. He is tagged exclusive. Meaning 2 1st rounders. Nobody is giving it and they aren’t blinking on his demands.

Just play your Madden and stare at your private cut out.

To be fair all Coach stated is what he would do if he was the Rooney's. And it probably won't happen. If I was the Rooney's I would have gone the route Miami did with Landry. Let him seek a trade. Won't happen but I don't think my way of thinking makes me an idiot. Bell is only hurting our team.

Not sure if racist. Ignorant or if you're just "rap challenged". I mean, you've managed to use a whole lot of stereotypical language without actually making anything that resembles a good rap. Kinda reminds me of that "Rapping Preacher" video from a couple of years ago. I don't think racist. So, I'm going to go with ignorant. But anyway, the term "Jive" hasn't been popular slang since BEFORE the movie Airplane came out. The only people who use it are 70 year old black males and folks trying to sound like they're in touch with "Urban Slang"; and failing miserably. Further, "Whack"? Man, you're dusting off ALL the old slang in your unsuccessful effort to appear witty. Finally, raps rhyme and have structure. In short, You have been measured. You have been weighed. You have been found wanting.

Edit: Just saw the video of Bell's "rapping" ... Y'all do share a similar ****** style of rhyme and no structure. God he sucks!

Again, to emphasize the “gone the Miami route that they did with Landry”, indicated they had a fallback option. Kenny Stills, and Devontae Parker. They can let Landry go, because they have players comparable to replace him. Heck, didn’t Stills have close the same receiving yards as Landry?

Who do we have behind Bell right now who can give some semblance of production? No one. So the “Rooney’s” Dan even, would be doing exactly what’s being done. Plus they have info that none of us have either.

Coach is an idiot because, he’s been told time and time again since last year you can’t trade anyone not under contract. Yet still fantasizes you can. He doesn’t like the HC, GM or the scouts because he thinks he knows more than they do. In his world he’s right, everyone is wrong because his opinion is fact. It’s a sad world I know, but it’s his.

There are FA'a out there. The draft coming up. There are fall back options. Sometimes cutting your loses and moving on is the better thing to do. Bell is hurting this team. If he holds out 10 weeks we will need a fall back option correct? I would imagine our front office will be drafting a RB and/or signing one in FA. If our FO is banking on Bell being here week 1 then they aren't doing their job. And are idioits themselves.
