Beachum signs with Jaguars

Have friends in J-ville who live in a nice area...

Sure every big city has its ****** areas.

I was just ******* with yinz with my shithole comment, although there is really ****** areas. lol

Well, just visiting for a weekend vs. living there is kind of not the same thing.

just saying that's not a pretty beach. Living here is a true nightmare thanks to the communists that run this country, but we have the most beautiful natural places ... and A LOT of hot chicks

Buh-bye, Beachum! Mmbuh-bye, Beaachummm, BUHHH-BYYYYYYE!!!!!!!

I hope he cashed in because he deserves it.

Looks like up to a 1 year 6m dollar contract with a 10m option bonus for year two.

The league has been looking into moving jacksonville for years... Thats why every season more and more "jacksonville to london" rumors arise... They have no attendance and the league hasnt viewed it as a pro football worthy location for a while... 5 years... They will be anywhere else...

A couple of erroneous statements.

1. 5 teams had less attendance than the Jags. Pgh is only 5 places higher, avg. 64k vs. J-Ville's 61k.
2. Jags owner does like going to London each year, but he makes deals to increase shipping to Jax ports from England each year.
3. If he is planning on moving, Kahn sure is pumping huge money into the stadium. I don't see how those expenditures will help in moving the team; once they move, all those upgrades aren't going to help anyone.
4. Even with all those losing the last 10 years, fans are still supporting the team. I have been there and see it. If they sniff the playoffs? That stadium will be sold out every game.
5. Jags made the playoffs in 2007 (when they beat us). No where near the futility of the Browns. I see them flirting with a winning season this year. Bortles looks legit. Their D line is gonna be among the best in the NFL.

pops is working hard at making friends ,,,, it seems.... We know its warm in florida.. Congrats ! Now stop being a dick with the words you say.

If that's the deal he certainly should've taken our long term offer last year. Wonder how much we offered on a year deal?

Probably would of if he knew he would blow out his knee.

I'd bet on a 7,5M/5Y deal, an improve of 1,5M each year over what Gilbert got

Only one year?

It's probably several years but there's a 10m roster bonus that comes early next season and he would have to be worth it for that to be picked up. Base is 4.5 with incentives to push to 6

Too bad, always liked him, kind of the underdog thing from where he was drafted. Hope he makes his $$$ works out his injury, gets a tan,and comes back in 2 years ,to go for a 3rd consecutive ring being a little pissed off he missed the first two.

Look up LA plan C and tell me kahn is loyal to the area... Its all for show... The jags are already out the door... Also look up the worse superbowl experiancrs of all time and see where Jacksonville ranks....

Okung and that Vanilla novo dude(Villanueva) will fill in just fine

Gotta be honest, for that contract I think the FO should've kept him because it is a very friendly price for a starting LT. It must mean that they didn't guarantee him a starting spot and he was obviously looking for that, it also means that they believe AV is starting material and can keep improving his LT skills.

Oh, I agree. My kids are sick at least once if not twice a month and my one son is an amazing athlete. His third word was actually ball and he wants to run, play catch, hit golf balls, kick soccer balls, etc all the time. But from November to April he's stuck in the damn house. I read an interesting article on Scooter Gennett of the Brewers where his father asked his son at 10 how seriously he wanted to play baseball. Obviously, he was and the father packed the family up and moved them where he could play baseball every day.

Now I am not saying my son would be a major league baseball player or an NFL football player. But I am saying he'd have a better opportunity and even if he was able to get a scholarship that would do so much for his future. I don't know if I will ever get her to move but I seriously do look at housing and if I could find the right deal that I could rent out I would do it in a heartbeat.

I have no reason to ever live anywhere that it gets cold. Arkansas was too cold for me in the winter and it gets hotter and just as humid (if not more so) during the summer.

Saw something the other day that St Petersburg averages 360 sunny days a year. Where I live it hasn't been below freezing or above 100 since 2008. Maybe 10-14 days of below 50 weather a year and they are not all in a row.

Good luck to Beachum - I hope that his joints hold out. He's always looked too heavy for his frame to me. Presumably that's what you've got to be to hold your own in the trenches.

They have a good young QB and lots of money to spend. Of course players will go where the money is.

jus like I perdicted

When I was dating my future wife, I told her, "You should know, if you want to get serious, that I have no intention of living here very long." She had a puzzled look on her face, as previous to that, she assumed she would remain there, as her parents lived there. But after introducing the idea of moving some where much nicer, within a few months, she was coming home saying, "We got to get out of here" and pushed for moving harder than I did.

Now that we live in FL, she is appalled at going back to Western PA. Even on visits, she is ancy to get back here after a few days. Not saying it's for everyone, some actually enjoy winter. But after you move to somewhere where you don't ever wear socks or long pants, and the sun shines almost every day, it changes your entire perspective and impacts your mental outlook, making you much more happy every day. People are just more friendly and happy down here. It is a direct effect of the weather. When I go back to PA, I am shocked at how grumpy so much of the people are. Living there, I never noticed. Moving away and coming back, the difference is extreme.

My wife made all new friendships and now can't move away from the friends she made here. The same would happen to your wife, but you might not be able to convince her of it.

A lot of Jag players live in our same town (not in actual J-Ville). Trust me, Beachum would like it just fine living here. We are just south-east of J-ville).

Looks nice......till the next hurricane comes along.

My in-laws live in Jacksonville. Like most cities you have to take the good with the bad.

Jacksonville in terms of area space is huge. You won't find many high-end retail stores here, but if you beaches, BBQ food, and pine trees, it might be for you.

If you are talking where NFL players like to live, that would be South Florida. In my younger days when I used to frequent night clubs, you'd see them in the off-season.

Good luck to Beachum. He was a quiet type of guy who seemed to work hard. We can;t afford him and the difference in play level between him and Villanueva last season wasn't much. Villanueva should be better in his second season as the starting left tackle.

So Pop is your father in law?

Haha, nope. He's a psychologist who can't name on player on the Jaguars. He does think the team will one day move. So players signing long-term deals with the Jag's better like London!

Looking at the numbers. Depending on what Beachums salary is next year if he makes that roster bonus we might be looking at a 4th round pick. If he averages over the next two years 10 million a year he'd be right on that 90th+ percentile. But if his has his 6 million this year, 10 million roster bonus and less than 4 million a year we'd probably be looking at a 5th round pick.
