Beachum signs with Jaguars

Jacksonville is not as bad as some of you make it out to be...

Those ripping on J Ville have never spent time there.

Sure, like every city, there are nasty sections, as there most definitely are in Pgh. Ever been to the "Hill?"

It's 80 and sunny in NE FL right now.

And tell me the next time you will see something like this at Heinz Field?

Try like, NEVER.

Edit: We have Heinz field, but J-Ville has "Hiney Field." Yuckady, yuckady yuck.

The browns were once good too... And now they blow.... Jacksonville wont have a team in 5 years

Browns haven't been good, at all, since the late 80's. and unlike the Browns, the Jags are finally improving.

J-Ville has some things going for it, including voted #1 best fan experience at the stadium. Unless you have experienced living here first-hand, you don't know jack **** about living down here.

You're dreaming.

Ben will be gone in a couple years and then what? They have a good young QB and lots of money to spend. Of course players will go where the money is.

And, let's face it, J-Ville is no Cleveland. They are building and could post a winning record by this season. And living there is awesome, polar opposite of the rust belt.

Living at the beaches is like being on a vacation year long.

When Steeler fans come down here, the most common comment is, "So this is how the weather is down here? I am going to move here."

I've been there, not too impressed. Nice weather though.

I'm not sold that the team is going to completely fall apart without Ben. Despite the evolution of the college game, there are still a handful of guys learning and mastering the position before they reach the NFL level. I'm confident that when the time is right, we will get our guy in some way, shape, or form

Hit. Like the stay home all weekend kind of hitting.

Where exactly did you go? Did you go to the beaches? That is light years from downtown, they are world apart. The only reason we cross the ditch (intracoastal waterway) is to go to NFL games or airport, or concerts.

If all you experienced was inland, you have no idea what the area offers.

I've been trying to convince my wife for years to move to a warmer climate. We live in Wisconsin now and though this year we only saw -20 for maybe 7-10 days the entire winter there's been winters where we didn't see above 0 for an entire month or longer. I'd love to find a job in the Keys and spend my down time fishing and sun bathing but the wife has grown roots and just will not listen to reason...

Peace out Beachum. Sorry bout that knee injury.

When I was dating my future wife, I told her, "You should know, if you want to get serious, that I have no intention of living here very long." She had a puzzled look on her face, as previous to that, she assumed she would remain there, as her parents lived there. But after introducing the idea of moving some where much nicer, within a few months, she was coming home saying, "We got to get out of here" and pushed for moving harder than I did.

Now that we live in FL, she is appalled at going back to Western PA. Even on visits, she is ancy to get back here after a few days. Not saying it's for everyone, some actually enjoy winter. But after you move to somewhere where you don't ever wear socks or long pants, and the sun shines almost every day, it changes your entire perspective and impacts your mental outlook, making you much more happy every day. People are just more friendly and happy down here. It is a direct effect of the weather. When I go back to PA, I am shocked at how grumpy so much of the people are. Living there, I never noticed. Moving away and coming back, the difference is extreme.

My wife made all new friendships and now can't move away from the friends she made here. The same would happen to your wife, but you might not be able to convince her of it.

A lot of Jag players live in our same town (not in actual J-Ville). Trust me, Beachum would like it just fine living here. We are just south-east of J-ville).

Not sure either way. It's possible, but let us also not forget it took over 20 years to find a QB worth a **** after Bradshaw.

If Jax had that sort of money why not shoot high and sign a top-flight FA like Von Miller even if he was restricted and you lose picks you get an absolute proven stud. Hell, Cleveland should make that their standing policy and avoid the draft anyhow. I mean, over $80M of cap space....why the hell not grab some elite players?

Von Miller had an exclusive Franchise tender so he can only negotiate with Denver

Oh, I agree. My kids are sick at least once if not twice a month and my one son is an amazing athlete. His third word was actually ball and he wants to run, play catch, hit golf balls, kick soccer balls, etc all the time. But from November to April he's stuck in the damn house. I read an interesting article on Scooter Gennett of the Brewers where his father asked his son at 10 how seriously he wanted to play baseball. Obviously, he was and the father packed the family up and moved them where he could play baseball every day.

Now I am not saying my son would be a major league baseball player or an NFL football player. But I am saying he'd have a better opportunity and even if he was able to get a scholarship that would do so much for his future. I don't know if I will ever get her to move but I seriously do look at housing and if I could find the right deal that I could rent out I would do it in a heartbeat.

The league has been looking into moving jacksonville for years... Thats why every season more and more "jacksonville to london" rumors arise... They have no attendance and the league hasnt viewed it as a pro football worthy location for a while... 5 years... They will be anywhere else...
