Question: Is tomlin a great coach. Or is he a flim flam man ,,, full of "pop corn"?x

I have always been on the Tomlin bandwagon, and to tell you the truth, we haven't had a coach this quotable since Lombardi. He does have a passion for the game. He controls his emotions, and expects results from his players and backups. They seem to respond well when injuries happen.

As a strategist, he is a bit conservative, but I love his approach to short yardage and 2pt conversions. He's a go for it guy, and you will win more games going for it, than you ever will punting the ball. this is a case in point for his win loss record, and also why Lewis loses so many close games in Cincy.

Burfict how does his suspension get reduced after they explained why it was 5 games?

I freaking hate Burfict. And I hate him for more than what the league and media point to him as his digressions. He did an alligator death roll on Cam Newton's ankle, after he scored a TD. He kneed Big Ben in the head after a sack. He is intentionally landing on players when they are down or out of bounds (Bell) and it leads to injuries.

That being said. I did not think this preseason hit was anything noteworthy to what this animal is capable of. He hit a receiver within the rule of 5 yards. Hit him high, did not make contact with the head or target the head. IMHO, it's not even an infraction. The ball was no where near this player, and no foul was called on the field.

To me this was a witch hunt call, like Harrison got against the Browns. The league looks closer for intent. It looked like intent on AB's hit and he was justly suspended and penalized for the play. This play, I did not see an intent to injure, that I have seen from him in the past.

I am fine with his suspension being reduced.

That's enough for me tonight. I'm getting sleepy. Thanks for the questions, this was super fun. Perhaps we can do this weekly and eventually stream it!

*****....................I'm still up and I have to work in the morning.....

awboatguy, I watched the highlights for Vance. This will be a shorthand breakdown.

His breakaway speed is astonishing. He can break longer plays than Bell with his speed! Wow.

I will say this. TEs normally are great at using their hands. It is coached in them since they were in HS to get their hands up to make a catch after a block. The best ones have hands in the ready position after making a block.

His highlights are limited, but instead of being a hands catcher, I'm noticing a lot of body catches. That may lead to his high drop ratio.

I missed the body catches. Good observation for a guy 6 brews deep!

This guy is a scumbag. His bullshit is known. This isn't a witchhunt. This is legitimate, "hey youre known for this crap and we wont tolerate it" . You know people like this growing up who did **** like this. It's dirty.
He deserves to be **** on by the league.

I don't disagree that he is a dirtbag and a dirty player. I just don't see that particular hit being suspension worthy. It's a lot like when Harrison and Suh were fined for 'hitting people too hard'. Either it's a contact sport, or it's not.
