As of 4PM Today, Michael Vick is No Longer a Steeler

Since the Steelers signed VickI have donated approximately $150 to shelters and rescues. I would love to be able to be a foster and plan to look into that in the future. His signing did raise my awareness of Pit Bull abuses and causes.

That said...I still think he lacked remorse. I've seen quotes he's made that pretty much back that up. He's not even a great QB anymore or a good fit for our offense. I'm glad he's gone. bye bye.

Honestly, I don't know how people can foster dogs. I would get too attached and couldn't give them up to adopted homes and end up with 50 dogs.

I can that lol. It might be a huge challenge for me also.

It isn't bad that I now choose to make a difference in this area. A big reduction in respect for my only team for the last 44 years was pretty hard for me to process. The Steeler's haven't been perfect but it seems like they used to have some standards when it came to character.[/QUOTE]

I don't really agree with this honestly. The "Steeler Way" has mostly been a product of us fans.

As for the Vick signing....I disliked it, but mostly for his lack of football skill at this stage of his career. I had issue with Vick when he came back into the league and as the years have passed so has my disdain for the whole Vick saga.

You know I didn't look into the details much of what happened UNTIL the Steeler signing. Once I did look into it though I couldn't get past it. Go make your amends somewhere else Vick.

Look, my feeling on this is not just Mike Vick. Everyday animals are being abused all over America. Nobody gives a ****, until it's Mike Vick. Everyday woman get punched in the face, but when Ray Rice does it on camera in an elevator we all of the sudden care. Do not think this is me being righteous. I am as guilty as anyone. To be honest, all of the sudden I realized how full of **** I am. I want to get all worked up about Ray Rice, but right down the road there is a similar situation that plays out daily and I ignore it. None of my business. And ****, I get pissed at myself. I should go down the street and beat that guys ***. And even at my old age, I'd kick his ****** ***, he's such a punk. So I have a little rage about this, I guess.

Michael Vick is one of my personal heroes. In a nation that leads the world with 2.4 million inmates, he is an inspiration to those that reform is possible if you take the initiative.

You're either the type of person who can accept that people make mistakes or you aren't.

His football skills are probably shot. I hope he continues to mentor young people and work with charity organizations. Further, I hope the NFL integrates him into their rookie symposium. I'm proud that he wore the Black and Gold and would feel no shame in wearing his Number 2 jersey about town.

Safe travels Mike, and keep up the good works.

Yeah. Years of running an illegal gambling operation, abusing animals and torturing themy to death. Just a mistake. What a joke.

I had a cherished dog stolen by dog fighters. Believe me I have always thought that dog fighters are sub human scum. You don't rehabilitate from sub human scum in my opinion. Role model, hero, you have got to be kidding me. The scum who stole my beautiful akc registered mahogany collie were Hispanic so it has nothing and I repeat nothing to do with race or my personal favorite /sarcasm...culture.

People like you are the reason we have wars, ISIS, the KKK, and Nazis. The ease with which you dehumanize your fellow man.

And unlike Mike, you feel no remorse for your hateful attitude.

Hitler, Putin, Mugabe, and Marcos were all democratically elected to power. Hateful little people like you made that happen.

]I'd keep Vick over Jones[/B], he sucks bad.

You just made me laugh out loud. Thanks. I needed that.

It amazes me that people still have such contempt for a man who was a starting NFL QB, got convicted, spent time in prison (unlike most other players that have committed heinous crimes), came back to the NFL, and has been a model citizen ever since.

Really? People like me who can't forgive scum are the reason we have wars? My family suffered under and escaped from Hitler and his ilk. You have no ******* idea what motivates me. Putin was democratically elected? Probably not.

I will fully admit that by not forgiving that monster I am not fulfilling my Christian duty to God and myself . I am not ready yet. I'm certainly not bound by any time line that you decree. It took me 40 ******* years to forgive the *** hole who molested me. I don't think it will take me that long for this lowlife. Oh its been 10 years. He's a changed man. Sure he is.

Mike Vick, responsible for killing a few dogs.

Adolf Hitler, responsible for killing millions of people.

Oh, yeah. They are equal.

He didn't serve time for any heinous crimes. He served time for illegal gambling or RICO or something like that.

Why would it matter if he was a starting NFL QB for me to hold him in contempt? If anything, it should make it more so. Some loser in AR or MS gets busted for something similar and goes to jail, he is not a convicted felon and has trouble getting a decent job and doesn't have handlers to keep him in line (or keep his stupid **** out of the press), but Vick gets to play a game for a million dollars.

but Vick gets to play a game for a million dollars.

Bingo. The truth comes out.

This ain't about dogs, it's about jealousy. Somebody that's not you is winning at life and you can't stand it. His past just gives you an excuse to hate on him.

Sport hunters kill animals for fun. Most dog owners are still castrating their animals, which is torture, instead of properly house training them. Animals are raised and slaughtered in horrible conditions for the meat industry. I don't hear any outrage from you about those every day abuses. You single out Mike because he represents a lifestyle that you envy, but could never achieve. You hide behind self righteousness to mask your covetous intent.

Steelin' is right. You have failed at being a Christian.

Wow! This thread has gone down a super NON-Football route. Just checked in to see what was posting and, to be honest, I'm leaving here before I get damned too.

Vick sucks as a player. Had his moment. Pissed it away. Jones sucks. Just not NFL quality. Glad Vick is gone...and I'm outta here.

*door slams behind me*

Bang, you are stupid. I don't give a **** how much money he is making. you have me confused with Democrats.

For you slooooow, people, I was pointing out that he got a HUGE opportunity that the average joe doesn't get. Regardless of either one's actual rehabilitation.

Once again, you have failed at reading comprehension. or you are not as smart as you like to pretend. I'm going with both.

professionals make sure they are ready when called upon...he did not have any grasp of the play book when he hit the field in his first game...he was a waste of money

Is this a joke??? He had one week to prepare...AND we've said it a million times - the delivery from a LEFT HANDED QB is VERY DIFFERENT than the delivery of a right handed QB. To think he was going to be the rebirth of Steve Young during he debut would have been a pipe dream...just sayin'...

Bingo. The truth comes out.

Steelin' is right. You have failed at being a Christian.

No time limit on my forgiving him as far as I know. Yeah...it's jealously. You are comical. Do you believe the **** that you're shoveling? Who would envy someone who could do that to an animal and then stand outside the courtroom with his attorney complaining that "they're JUST dogs"? Have a good one. I hope that you're not as cruel and heartless as you come across here.

Oh and I didn't say anything about Ark's Christianity. I was speaking only of myself...I'm pretty sure I have some time left to find it in my heart to forgive his cruelty. I'm sure he could care less about it.

I will fully admit that by not forgiving that monster I am not fulfilling my Christian duty to God and myself .

Yeah...it's jealously.

Actually, it is because I am a card carrying racists. yeah, that is plural. I'm so racist, it is enough for more than 1 person.

Just want to get that out there before Vanguard has to pull that out of his ***, too.

Race shouldn't even be a factor. I really never gave it much thought. Vick killed dogs, which is terrible. ****, though, I'm glad some of you don't know me, or at least how I was raised.

We used to have a stump with two nails in it and a wire across. You'd put the chicken's head between the nails and then run the wire across so it couldn't pull it's head out or up. Then wham! One could argue that is cruelty.
,
We would have rats sometimes. We'd take a high pressure hose and put it in the holes and blast them out, then stand with golf clubs and beat the rats to death. While drinking beer. Cruelty.

We'd shoot groundhogs just for the hell of it.

I'd be hypocritical to get too righteous over Vick.

.

I've known alot of hunters. For all the "conservation" talk they do when the cameras are on, real hunters are a pretty malicious sort. They enjoy killing things. This is, it should be pointed out, not an inhuman trait. Killing things preserved the species. I don't think it makes you, or them, or Mike, bad people. Perhaps just a little shortsighted.

My issue is more the lack of reason when it comes to OTHER PEOPLE's mistakes. How easily we fall, as a society, in to judgementlism when somebody does something we don't approve of. If the whole world knew about the 4 or 5 worst things you ever did in your life, many people would be hated. Most would be in prison. The average American commits several felonies a year. Ever told someone you're gonna kick their ***? That's a felony in most states. Ever had one too many before driving, or taken meds not prescribed to you? Felonies.

People need to get down off their high *** horses and remember they've done plenty of less than heroic **** in their lives.
