Article: Steelers Injury/Suspension Tracker 2016

Practicing fully on Wednesday were safety Robert Golden (hamstring), cornerback Justin Gilbert (knee), wide receiver Eli Rogers (toe), and fullback Roosevelt Nix (back).

When is Shazier coming back?

Does anyone hear a date?

With Shazier its usually longer than the Steelers say

The old Probable = Questionable.

Questionable = Doubtbfull.

Out = add 1-2 weeks from whatever the Steelers say he might return.

We have a injury thread

I did not see Shazier mentioned with a timeline. Besides, he's his own special case. A little boo-boo can mean weeks.

If mods want to move this to the injury thread, so they sure can.

For a grade 2 sprain, I have his timetable returning next week. The Steelers may keep him out the extra week so he gets 2 extra weeks off with the bye and will be ready for the Ravens game.

Also to note, Shazier took a step back this week. Didn't practice Wed, was limited Thu, and didn't practice Friday. Probably not playing next week.

Sammie Coates has broken index finger

Sammie Coates (hand, questionable) is dealing with a broken index finger in addition to the laceration on his left hand.

Coates was able to catch passes in Friday's practice, and Mark Kaboly of DK Pittsburgh Sports believes he will "definitely" play. He had trouble catching the ball last week despite a massive game, however, and the Steelers could give him a week off against a Dolphins squad they should dispatch without much trouble. Coates is truly questionable, and it would not be surprising if he sat out.

Has anyone quantified the number of games we have lost from starters in comparison to other teams? Of course, including guys like Bud Dupree and Golson who haven't played yet but would definitely be starting. There's just no way any other team is as crippled as we are. And always are. Every single ******* year.

The Ravens may have set the record last year. Green Bay always seems to be up there as well. You can count games by going to non healthy scratch inactives on the injury spreadsheet.

I cleaned up the injury tracker. Since the PUP and IR is now locked and eligible players are cleared, I moved the IR list under the healthy scratch section, so the current player injury status is at the top.

Interesting note this week: Since they didn't have a practice on Monday, Tomlin still had to estimate who would have been practicing had they had a practice on Monday. So it's estimated that DHB and Williams wouldn't have practiced (and won't play this week), while Thomas, Dangerfield, and Grimble would have all been limited this week. Sammy Coates was estimated to be practicing fully. Too funny.

THE SEASON IS SAVED!

Shamarko Thomas is back to practice!

Karlos Williams suspension has been added to the spreadsheet. I also added a feature that lets you scroll through the inactive results by week without losing sight of the player information.

Grave Digger hasn't been ruled out, but, he's still in concussion protocol.

De'Angelo could be coming back very soon.

The Boz maybe playing this week...

I'm concerned about a couple injuries. Tuitt and Mathews with a Knee and Ankle with a thin DL. Hopefully neither are serious.

Green with a Concussion. Keep an eye on this, because many speculated that his head was the issue, and not his ankle. This week is big for him, especially since he was used as our #2 WR in most alignments today.

As usual, my brother from another mutha, beats me "to it"...

I was just asking myself, "Self, I wonder how Tuitt is doing???"

Myself didn't answer...

Injury update.

Looks like Green is working his way off of concussion protocol. He was limited today, and if he practices again tomorrow, he will be off.

Tuitt is still a concern. Tomlin let slip in the pressure that he was rehabbing in the pool. That is the sign of someone that won't be ready for a few weeks, if at all. Get healthy soon Tuitt, we really can use you for a playoff run!

Here's a link to the missed tackles gif for the miami game. I'm not listing this for the missed tackles, I'm listing it because the bottom GIF shows the play where Davis hurts his shoulder. It looks like he has his arm fully extended above him when he lunges for the arm tackle. His arm is above his head and it looked like the torque of the extended arm caused a subluxation. His arm may have popped out of socket then slid back in on its own. This is why he returned to the game after halftime. It's painful, but you can play with it. As long as he doesn't over extend his arm to try and make a tackle the same way, he has a very low chance of reinjury.
