So what started as an attempt to remain neutral has now turned into a disaster. And that is because you will have one of two situations next week.

1. The Steelers are on the sideline and some players kneel or whatever, and this will bring a new round of condemnation and distraction/divisiveness in the locker room making the season toast.

2. The players are ordered not to kneel and this creates a furor and divisiveness in the locker room resulting in a distraction that makes the season toast.

This is not going to turn out well.

no one stands up in their living room before kick off during the national anthem.

people are dense.

Leave it to a Dallas military veteran and news anchor to destroy the right wing position and the president on this. OUCH.

That was the gospel.

Advertisers To NFL And Its Players: Clean Up Your Act. Or Else...

The actions of a few players are giving the NFL a black eye in front of the companies that contribute heavily to the profitability of the league and its 32 member franchises. Advertisers are hearing feedback from American consumers that the off the field conduct of some players is unacceptable to the American public. This is especially true with the female market, the segment of the buying public which has the biggest impact on how disposable income is spent.

Anheuser-Busch became the latest big budget spender to send a message to the league. The St. Louis based brewer spends tens of millions of dollars each season to purchase air time during the games. On Tuesday, they made their position abundantly clear with the following press release:

"We are disappointed and increasingly concerned by the recent incidents that have overshadowed this NFL season. We are not yet satisfied with the league's handling of behaviors that so clearly go against our own company culture and moral code. We have shared our concerns and expectations with the league."

Under the brewery's current deal, they are committed to a total of $1.2 billion over the next six years. In addition to its deal with the league, Anheuser-Busch and its independent distributors also have deals with over three quarters of the league's 32 franchises. While they have not threatened to pull the plug on the revenue just yet, they are getting some serious attention from the power brokers in the league.

It is not just the Budweiser family of companies that are taking a stand. The Radisson Hotel Group, a corporate sponsor of the Minnesota Vikings, announced that it too was fed up with the misconduct of players and the relatively soft stance the league has been taking. The hospitality company suspended its relationship with the Vikings until there is an acceptable resolution to the Adrian Peterson child abuse issue.

"Radisson takes this matter very seriously, particularly in light of our long-standing commitment to the protection of children. We are closely following the situation and effective immediately, Radisson is suspending its limited sponsorship of the Minnesota Vikings while we evaluate the facts and circumstances."

Those who make the decisions in on Madison Avenue are giving the powers that be in the NFL's crystal palace an opportunity to rectify the situation, but if things don't change and the advertisers start feeling the impact on their bottom line, there will be some changes made in how a few key players in the marketing world shell out their revenue. That is one thing that will get the attention of the NFL

No matter the reason, they ****** up. They lost fans for the NFL and they lost fans for the Steelers. The team really needs to just shut up about it because some of their comments since they did this are making it worse. Leave Rooney's "apology" as the last thing any member of the organization says about this and make sure every team member stands for the anthem the rest of the year. That is the only way to make this sort of go away.

The majority of Americans do not agree with the players kneeling for the anthem.
Any fan that was lost after the full transparent and complete explanatiin given by Tomlin and Rooney can take all their Steelers Swag shove it up their *** and go watch soccer, NASCAR or whatever the **** you want. There are many men in that locker room. They all dont see things the way you want them to. Cause they are grown *** men with their own experiences. If you cant handle their viewpoint conflicting with yours and your little boy image if this team is tarnished, screw off. Lots of room in Steelernation for others. Go watch the all day left hand turn.

My old neighbors who are both veterans and from Pittsburgh (the guy sounds exactly like Pittsburgh Dad) would stand during the national anthem. We stood right along with them. Seemed like the right thing to do in their house.

Damn it! Ill STARVE!!!

This whole thing this past sunday. The steelers didn't need to do anything. Steelers never had anyone kneel before. Trump wasn't talking to any of them. But they chose to stay in the locker room and make it political about them. That's what bugs me anyway. (forget what decision the PLAYERS made) Anything other than business as usual,, was to me wrong.

Conservative talk show host Rose Tennent replied to Rooney and his explanation of "wanting to avoid a political statement"

She said, “Dear Mr. Rooney: Taking the field and standing for the anthem is how you avoid making a political statement. Standing for the anthem is not a political statement. And we refuse to have it turned into one by those who are actually making a political statement by not doing it.”

Not in the least. These feigned fans with their disgust make me want to puke. You dont like the teams response, live with it and move on or get out. Dont tell me how you are going to quit, boycott whatever. Just do it so I dont have to listen to the whine.
