Or is that still racist?

Posters who are filled with opinions that don't watch the game, suck.

Discuss all you want he's going no where. So have at it. While you're at it go outside and scream at the sky and pet puppies or color, like it or not when you come back he will still be coach. I will join the conversation when we really know something about this team other than that the defense needs to get better.

Who is responsible for the defense not improving over the course of 3+ seasons?

Great post. Honestly. I agree with you. I hate it, but it's real.

I started this post to point out the craziness we have heard about those of us not on the Tomlin train.

I watched both games what good can you say by the leader of the pack Tomlin. Last year if it was not for late in game field goals he may have been at 500, He changed nothing in the playoffs and we went home at home. These two games tomlin has shown his usual when going South he does not have an answer or a clue how to fix anything.

That is the biggest issue I have with him. He can not adjust the X and Os.

He is like a running QB (one who runs instead of scrambling to pass), looks nice for awhile. Until you learn that won't get you what you desire at the end of the tunnel.

Great analogy, which could explain why he really likes those type players as his back-up QBs too. I lost all hope for him when he was was grinning ear to ear after signing a washed up Mike Vick. CMT is a poor decision maker. His "gut" sucks.

I am a realist, Why get so upset about something that won't be changing. It seems like an exercise in futility and I would rather keep things positive in my life. Hating on a coach that has been competitive just doesn't seem like a worthwhile use of my angst particularly when I have lived in Cincy now for 12 years watching the **** show of futility they have had here and can count my lucky stars to be a fan of a team like the Steelers. I get it I used to throw things and scream and shout and be an ******* during games but I have learned to enjoy them for what they are all the while keeping in the back of my mind I have seen us win more Big Games than any other team in my lifetime so I try to temper my expectations with the reality that I am a spoiled fan.

You must be new around here. Every critical post eventually includes Tomlin. He's not going anywhere, and neither is this team. What bothers me the most is the final year or years of Ben's career will officially be wasted. Not since passing on Dan Marino have I seen worse decisions by the front office.

Problems I've had with coaching this year:

*Keeping Jordan Berry. May be a great guy, but is a bad punter.
*Playing Justin Hunter so much last week. He got what, two targets? They follow it up and bench him the next week. Poor personnel decision.
*Defense completely unprepared to play against Kansas City
*Took until the team went down 21-0 to spread out KC's defense. Why not attack the weakness from the first play?
*Illegal formation on the kick following the safety.
*Time management at the end of today's game (that's also on the slow moving offensive players).
*The decision to put on fourth-and-seven. Berry booted it well into the end zone and KC killed over three minutes of clock.
*No onside kick. Did Tomlin really think that defense was going to make a stop?

I've said it before and I'll say it again. When Ben's career is over we will look at the stats and his performance and wonder how the hell he never got back to a Super Bowl. And when you look at Tomlin and the fact that his fingerprints are all over that Defense and they have been for the past five seasons you will understand that Ben's greatest years were wasted!

If about 15 years is new, then yeah.

I agree on the Marino comparison.

He's not going anywhere unfortunately. We can only hope he eventually learns that he SUCKS at defensive game plans, etc and should hire someone who knows wtf they are doing. Oh, and then stay out of his way when he does.

Until then, games will continue to be nauseating.

Tomlin has the single qualification Rooney was looking for when the job opened up. Same reason he will never be fired or forced out.

I was referring to the fact that you asked if we could discuss Tomlin yet. Anyone who has been on this board since the beginning of the current season can see we discuss Tomlin - a lot - with the same effect.

Why wait till Ben is retired when you can wonder now.

The Steelers have had three head coaches in my lifetime. Three. Unless he does something against the law that gets him thrown in prison he'll be here, until he decides to go on to the next chapter in his non coaching *** life. It's unfortunate. The front office has to all go too. This is the least talented/worst defense in decades. Maybe three of our starters would be contributors on contenders. The defense is ***, we're in for a long season.

I agree, largely, with your post, except for the last part. I’m January, we were in a very similar situation, and Tomlin elected to go for the onside kick. To nobody’s surprise, it was unsuccessful, as onside kicks rarely are. Not sticking up for him, but this is a perfect example of “when it works/doesn’t work, the coach is a ...........”

The evidence speaks for itself.

Slow out of the gates in games.
Start seasons out slow
Miscommunication.
Slow to adjust well within game time situational football.

Rahrahrah only gets you so far.

The failure to go for it on 4th and 7 was so @#$%ing stupid.

I genuinely believe that the idiot Tomlin saw that the score was 42-30, and believed if we could juuuuuuuust have Berry pin KC deep six more times, the defense gets 6 more safeties, and the Steelers work their magic for another tie, 42-42.
