Any inside backers we could trade for?

Henry is going to truck stick Spillane. I hope Spillane can pop him a few times to back him off.

Nothing new here, but from what I’ve seen, or lack thereof, I’m more worried about Spillane in coverage than tackling Henry. Spillane is a thumper

what kind of forum is this?

I would like to know what kind of forum is this? phpbb? Guci

My guess is Ray Wilborn a hybrid S/ILB signs to PS and they bring a OL up like Walton from PS. DeCastro probably out a few more weeks so depth move. Maybe Brooks if they think he can play hybrid S/LB and backup inside. Just guessing.

I like the idea, but don’t see it being OL. They have 9 currently, and wiz should be coming back. Unless he’s activated to take the spot. But that would still make 10 OL on the roster. I see more of maybe a 6th WR being brought up.

LB forth send a 6TH and7th Gilbert was said to be adapting well in camp and he hasn't even dressed some scheme changes bring Edmunds closer to the LOS and have him play MLB dropping and taking the te or rb on wheel routes by a RB and te all crossing routes and put Dangerfield at times or hilton at Ss with Sutton as the nickel back, this if Spillane shows problems.
other options you have to then drop tj back I rather see vince just blitz so a 3 DL 4 LB 4 DB set of
DE Tuitt
NT Tyson/Buggs
DT heyward
OLB Dupree
MLB watt
LBWilliams cross blitz
under S Edmunds
Over Minkak
CB haden
CB nelson
NB hilton

Darren Lee is the best buy to bring in trading for Fort cant hurt is a better in coverage than Vince.

Maybe but didn’t they bring Cain up from PS last week? Right now they have 8 healthy offensive linemen on the active roster. Villanueza, Feiler, Pouncey, Dotson, and Oku with Hawkins, Gray and Hassenaur as backups.

Doubt anyone they call up stays long but if Wilborn gets a PS spot I feel if Waitman doesn’t get promoted he’s cut if Berry gets signed. Personally, I’d give him a try before signing Berry. We know what we got with Berry and no one is signing him anytime soon. Give the kid a shot if he doesn’t shine cut him for Berry.

They brought Cain up only as a game day active. He reverted back to practice squad.

So multiple sites are advocating us trading a fifth or sixth for Avery Williamson from The jets...

His base salary is 2750000, which means if we Dealt for him next week he’d count For around 1,620,000 against the cap, leaving us about 8,000,000 free space the rest of the year

He is a ufa in the offseason iirc...

So far its the most logistic friendly deal Ive seen offered...

Again, they probably just bring up a safety and add to the practice squad, but this wouldn’t be a bad move if They did it

Two things...
1 Myles Jack isn’t happening lol... no way without screwing the cap too much
2. Ive seen three different CBS averey williamson To the steelers articles now.... each one has upped the return to the jets
A sixth to a fifth to a fourth in this one...

After trading McClendon for peanuts I doubt they are looking for a huge return on other disposable UFAs...

Williamson would be great if Ogeltree cant cover than Fa wise thier only Lee left, I think Clay Matthews has nothing left and if we brought him and moved to inside on some passing downs would be no upgrade rather do that with highsmith.

I honestly see it shaking out as them rolling with the 4 they have; Williams, spillane, Allen, Gilbert; with another body added to the practice squad.

Bush goes to IR - deon cain promoted
Wiz comes back from IR - JC Hassenhauer waived to practice squad.

I think Dotson has earned the primary backup guard position, and Wiz will serve as backup center.

Long story short, no additions at inside linebacker unless it’s practice squad.

Just gonna throw out there, a low pick for Mark Barron since he knows the system?

I thought about this for a second as well. While I don’t think anybody is brought in, I do believe it will be someone who has spent time in Pittsburgh already.

Everyone is also forgetting that we still have Sean Davis on the roster. He's played SS, could he fill a role? Bump him or Edmunds down and place the other one behind him? Kid has experience in this D

Yikes!

https://nfltraderumors.co/afc-notes-bengals-ravens-steelers-16/

according to this site, decastro and DJ returned to practice.

they also site many options to consider, per Ed Bouchette.

yep. was just reading that. right-click and copy is disabled, so:

  • The Athletic's Ed Bouchette writes the Steelers likely will have to rely on in-house options to replace LB Devin Bush, including LBs Robert Spillane and Ulysses Gilbert and converted S Marcus Allen
  • Bouchette notes the Steelers could also use S Terrell Edmunds in certain packages to replace Bush's coverage responsibilities
  • As for the outside options available, Bouchette lists Broncos practice squad LB Nigel Bradham, free-agent LB Darron Lee and free- agent LB Alec Ogletree
  • If Pittsburgh were to approach a trade, Bouchette mentions Lions LB Jarrad Davis and Jets LB Avery Williamson as two potential candidates, noting Pittsburgh met with Davis for a pre-draft visit when he was entering the league.
  • ESPN's Jeremy Fowler notes Chargers LB Denzel Perryman isn't playing much and could also make sense as a trade target for the Steelers.

That would be my recommendation. I would move Edmunds down into the box and put Davis deep. But what the hell do I Know

Edmunds isn’t the worst idea. He has some size and can go from side to side quickly- but his tackling....
