Sources tell FOX Sports Antonio Brown is seeking a new contract and is mulling a holdout.

well that is not a shock.

So three years into a deal...that he agreed on...he wants more $$$. Screw these high priced *******. If you agree to a contract...honor it!!! Period.

Brown signed a six-year, $43.04 million contract in July of 2012. Since then, he's been among the most productive wideouts in the league, racking up 305 catches for 3,984 yards with 26 touchdowns. So Brown won't attend offseason workouts and is also considering a holdout from both mandatory minicamps and training camp. Brown is absolutely invaluable to the Steelers offense, so he'll likely get a raise if he really digs his heels in. It's now a question of how long the saga will drag out.

this sucks. I know he deserves more money but the Steelers also made a leap of faith when they gave him that contract

wow, didn't see this one coming. I thought he is getting paid pretty well and they went with him over Mike Wallace. Not happy to hear this diva attitude from AB.

C'mon now. You know that NFL team hardly honor contracts themselves. Hell, non-guaranteed contracts in itself is a joke. Wanting your current value isn't Diva- its smart.

How many times have we seen teams basically force players to take paycuts, or cut them well before their contracts expire?

I have no sympathy for NFL owners. Open up that wallet, Mr. Rooney, and pay the man..

sources? really? more BS reporting. with no truth to it.

Apparently no wide receiver is immune from the " diva" disease.

Trade him to Oakland for their 2015 1st and 3rd and 2016 1st. That will give us two top five picks and a third. Draft White or Cooper this year and maybe sign Brown in two years when the Raiders cut him.

Antonio Brown wants new deal, won’t be at offseason workouts

With 25 teams starting their offseason workout programs this week, the time is ripe for players to signal their discontent with their contracts or other matters by skipping the voluntary work.

Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown is on the list of players going that way this year. Mike Garafolo of FOX Sports reports that Brown will not be joining his teammates at offseason workouts as he tries to push the Steelers toward giving him a new deal.

Brown signed a six-year, $43 million deal with the Steelers in the summer of 2012, but has seen his numbers explode over the last two seasons as the focal point of the Pittsburgh passing offense. He’s caught 239 passes for 3,197 yards and 21 touchdowns for the Steelers while playing in every game and adding two more touchdowns as a punt returner.

Those numbers make Brown integral to anything the Steelers want to do on offense this season and Garafolo reports he’s mulling an extended absence from the Steelers in hopes of getting the new contract terms he wants. Brown is reportedly considering missing June’s mandatory minicamp and training camp time as well, which would make for a contentious standoff if the Steelers don’t find a way to make Brown happy before the calendar gets to those points.

Three years left on a very good deal for him and he is all about the money. I guess maybe we do need to draft a WR this year. Depending on how this goes with him, I'd trade his *** next year. We can get a first rounder and more. He will still have 2 years on his current contract.

Didn't think he was all about the money but this is a slap in the face - especially with 3 years left on his current deal.

threatening to miss training camp when you still have years left on your current deal is a diva attitude. Unless the Steelers promised a raise if his numbers went up and didn't honor that part, which I doubt, this has me scratching my head. Hope it is false reporting, but if it's not, AB may want to reconsider this with the Rooneys. They could ship his *** to TB or Jax.

Anybody follow him on FB? I have him and Hines Ward and Ward is always posting stuff for sale but all the proceeds go to charity. Brown is always posting selling stuff but it doesn't go to charity and he always is posting with his kids in brand new name brand clothes. It's crazy I don't think his kids have ever not went shopping that day to have 3-4 outfits for that day. Dude is a great player but will be broke about a minute after he is out of the NFL. He needs a financial advisor not a new contract.

Maybe the Steelers knew something we didn't and that's why they are looking at some of the top WR's in the draft. If they take one, I see it being a sure sign they are looking to trade AB either this year or next. His value may not get much higher than it currently is. Not sure if he can match last years numbers with the emergence of Wheaton and Bryant. If he does, his value will go up a little.

He has the 3rd highest salary on the team and is making great money for a WR. This article is out of context, and I will wait to hear it from AB before worrying about anything.

Steelers also don't deal with people who hold out. That's one thing you can bank on.

I dont see the problem.

Next year he is due to make $9.7mln. Get him to 12mln (which is well in line with his value) which I think is just under the tag, but make him tack on more years. Win win for both sides.

I just find it funny how often fan's side with the owners- when the players are getting essentially bent over when it come to negotiations.

2005:

Hines Ward holds out of camp for 15 days...

Receives a new deal.

It's all over 93.7FM The Fan, so it may have legs. The Rooneys will not be thrilled about this. They know what they have in AB, but if they feel he has a good contract, they may let him sit. F'n great!

If he wants a new contract already he is just another DeSean Jackson. I can see when there's 2 years left making a statement (not holding out) and with one year left maybe not going to voluntary stuff. But with three years left if he holds out I'd trade him to the shittiest team I could think of to make a point.

Doesn't surprise me one bit. Today these guys are all about the dollar and screw honoring your contract. Wonder what kind of money he's looking for?

I'd extend him, keep him for this year and then trade his *** off next season for picks. The other 2 guys (Bryant and Wheaton) are still too green to trade Brown right now and we have to make the most out of Ben's last contract

Again with this false logic.

What happens if Brown tore an achilles and never panned out? Would the Steeler's or any NFL team 'honor' his contract? Would they wait to cut him until there was only 1 year left? No- they would cut his *** with the quickness and not pay him. Simple as that.

Brown is a hard worker who has out played his contract. Explain to me how that makes you a Diva? Pay him more, but tack on more years.

This sucks.

Antonio Brown really, really needs to talk to Hines Ward.

Hines knows how to conduct a hold out.
