An Intelligent Organization Would start Rudolph 10/10.

One place and another site might want to update their projections. There is no likelihood that Pickett makes it to free agency. None.

Why not?
Well Im not a fan of spending a high pick on a guy who is going to be 25 next season based on him balling out after being given a freak fifth year eligibility… id like more substance to go on. I expect if he continues to play this great he will be a first or high second round pick

I think had he come out last season and we dropped a fifth or sixth rounder on him then he would have been a great gamble….

But honestly this isnt a 21 or 22 year old having a breakout season… its a grizzled vet by college standards having a career year

Never pay premium prices for a guy coming off a career year without anything else really to justify it

If we use a high round pick on him we basically lock ourselves in to several years of him before we draft another QB high…

Like i said, you better be sure when going all in on a qb.. and I think Pickett may well be starter material, but I don’t think he is franchise material…

Not sure where you got his age from, but Pickett turned 23 in June. So he is pretty much the same as any other 4-year college player, except for the extra year due to Covid -- a lot of guys decided to take advantage of that added eligibility, and in his case, it made perfect sense. Sure, he's having a career year...would you really want a quarterback whose production has gone the other way as a senior?

The Steelers not only need a quarterback of the future, but they also need one as soon as possible. As a grizzled college vet, KP could fit the bill.

I'll be keeping a close eye on how his season progresses, but he won't stay under the radar for long if he keeps it up. I don't remember Ben being all that high on too many draft boards in early October of 2003, either, then he skyrocketed. We'll see.

Rudy is nothing more than a career backup… nothing more.. he was a wasted draft pick if you cant run an rpo you or aren’t making 100m you don’t belong starting in nfl. You have to move the fuking chains! Hook or by crook qbs that can run are a killing it plow horses like Ben not so much he’s looking like Bledsoe before he got put down for romo parcels didn’t want to do it just tomlins doesn’t but put in buckeye take our lumps if he can’t cut it there will be somebody out there next season… but ruby is not a starting qb anymore than Kent graham was if go that direction again I’ll will find something else to do sundays… lived through that already.
Sounds like you had a night of being pretty numb. Kuddos.

ESPN moved him to 6th from unranked the other day. I was going off of some older data(obviously). The 6th drafted QB typically can go in the 2nd-4th round depending on need

The year isn't over so he may rise or fall depending how their season goes. I will say he has a sophomore receiver, Jordan Addison, that catches anything thrown his way.

It was reported that BEN has sore ribs so in answer to the OP's question.....We may find out sooner than you think and it may be due to injury instead of benching. Either way I think we will find out that Rudolf is not the long term mediocre answer we seem headed for.

We will need to draft a QB but I think that happens in 2023 draft. I just hope we don't take someone due to pressure of need instead of outright ability.

Maybe we can draft him in round 2 ? You know..... to keep the streak alive. (lol)

oh and fans that want to lose to get a better draft pick can go **** themselves
I get what you're saying. So I can officially say I ****** myself in week 17 of 2003 when I actively wanted the Ravens to beat the Steelers. Game meant nothing to either team but pride as Rats sealed division.

But I'd **** myself, your mom and Joe Biden if it meant that it puts us ahead enough of the draft order to land a Ben Roethlisberger -- cuz f'n Buffalo Bills sure wanted to draft him and Tom Donahoe couldn't entice jack **** to move up a few spots to get him, and adding to the fact playing hard in defeat impressed Dick LeBeau which influenced his return to Pittsburgh and Buffalo was courting him too.

I'll always say **** a meaningless game if it benefits the franchise moving forward.

Often wondered if Bengals made that FG with time expiring in finale of 2006 - would they have taken Revis and how much would that have helped the secondary (our weakest link) in winning another ring? Butterfly effect either 2009 or 2010...?

But that's end of the season only. I still have hopes this team will get it together and make playoffs.
