Well Im not a fan of spending a high pick on a guy who is going to be 25 next season based on him balling out after being given a freak fifth year eligibility… id like more substance to go on. I expect if he continues to play this great he will be a first or high second round pickOne place and another site might want to update their projections. There is no likelihood that Pickett makes it to free agency. None.
Why not?
I think had he come out last season and we dropped a fifth or sixth rounder on him then he would have been a great gamble….
But honestly this isnt a 21 or 22 year old having a breakout season… its a grizzled vet by college standards having a career year
Never pay premium prices for a guy coming off a career year without anything else really to justify it
If we use a high round pick on him we basically lock ourselves in to several years of him before we draft another QB high…
Like i said, you better be sure when going all in on a qb.. and I think Pickett may well be starter material, but I don’t think he is franchise material…
