For many of these guys the salaries are the same as winning the lottery. That would have me set for life and my children, which are all adults now. I would not need the second contract.
And people wonder why athletes with huge contracts go broke, wasting a few 100 thousand on a depreciating asset,.

At least he's showing pride in his team. Some players get free cars from a dealership in exchange for doing some ads. In this case, if AB did get the car for free I'd look for it to turn up in the paper or on eBay in a while from the dealer saying "Steeler Fans!!! Own Antonio Brown's Car!!!"Brown, who led the league last season in both receptions and receiving yardage, pulled up to the team dorms in the backseat of his new black Rolls Royce Phantom that includes a gold stripe down the middle and his signature etched into the side. Browns’s younger brother was reportedly behind the wheel driving. Brown’s slick new ride is reportedly worth between $400,000 and $500,000 and he apparently didn’t have to pay for it, either, according Jacob Klinger of pennlive.com.
A Rolls Royce is not a Chevy, Ford, or Dodge...it's not even a Mercedes, or BMW...It's not going to depreciate like that.
Yeah, because Brown is walking around with iced out necklaces, watches, etc. Brown has been quite smart with his money, this is his first major purchase of a "toy" like so many are trying to point out. It's a $500k car, and he's pocketed well over $10,000,000 thus far just from his NFL contract, that doesn't touch his other endorsements. This isn't a rookie we are talking about, this isn't Vince Young, JeMarcus Russel, this is Antonio Brown, going into his 6th NFL season.
Yes it will depreciate a ton. He will not be able to get even $300,00 for it in 3 years.

.
Well if he gets 300,000 for it then he made a 300,000 dollar profit since he paid nothing for it.

Some serious flaws in your math and logic.
First of all McCutchen only makes his 400K for half the year meaning he nets about 5 million of the ten million salary.
Secondly you use yourself as spending a years salary on a vehicle and that is great because in all probability you will continue to increase your salary for the next 30 years while Brown will not. In fact Brown will have a huge decrease in salary and after football will not even make 2 % of his current salary, yes 2 % which would be $140,000 a year. Please tell me in the real world what type of job Brown will be qualified to do that makes him $140,000 a year outside of possibly broadcasting.
These guys spend like they are Donald Trump when they have a small window of huge earnings and after their extravagant purchases, taxes , money for their extended families, etc they are left without much and they don't have cash cows in investments. Trump meanwhile gets richer and richer so he can spend like a fool.
It may just be a leased vehicle that was decked out for the advertising by the guys who did the job.

News flash a rolls royce will depreciate as will any other car. put 150,000 miles on one and make it 12 to 15 years old and it will not be worth much either it will be a worn out car. Difference is with the chevy you will have used up maybe 50 K not 500 k.
Everybody step away from the ledge,it's not his car. just a promo loaner.

Most Rolls owners don't use it as a daily driver and they end up being used as garage art and driven occasionally on nice days with very few miles put on them. Back in 2000 my dad bought a new BMW 750iL, top of the line, because two of his buddies had them and they weren't supposed to depreciate. It stickered for $72K. Problem was that he drove the whee out of it, putting on 120K in less than four years, at which time it had a bunch of expensive mechanical maladies and I think he got $10K on trade when he traded it for a new Cadillac. Lost his shirt on that car.
