Just thinking ahead.. "when" rodgers goes down,, its going to be the strangest reaction from the crowd @heinz field ,, ever.

Just depends on wants right? I want to win yesterday, today, and tomorrow. A bridge free agent starter makes between 15-25 per year. He makes 25 with incentives I can live with it.
You can blame Rooney and a former inept coach for a decade of futility. Also you can thank them for missing the boat in free agency last year. This year the options blew. Why can’t they develop a room with a new scheme and HC? I wouldn’t say that is out the window. I thought it was less than ideal this season and they did what they could do. We can not entirely like the situation but in the end I still think he can win while they try to restock and rebuild.Yesterday is out the window-wasn’t gonna happen with Tomlin & T-biscuit, OldeRuss or the geriatric Rodgers
Today sure as hell ain’t happening with an older yet geriatric scaredshitless Rodgers that wasn’t good enough last year.
Now tomorrow is out the window too cuz they sure won’t be developing Allar or Howard…so next season do they draft yet another QB???
This franchise needs leadership with a vision and the ability to build a competent team. Art sure AF ain’t the guy to do it.
Hopefully that Achilles gets stuck in Art’s ****** turf
I hear you, but he had no other offers we had him over a barrel.Just depends on wants right? I want to win yesterday, today, and tomorrow. A bridge free agent starter makes between 15-25 per year. He makes 25 with incentives I can live with it.
We will see. They stocked like they are contenders so the damn sure better try. They have to see what they hey have in these rookies in camp. There is a new sheriff in town and he has to get an up close look to assess. We can think one way but they will have to look to know who is what. The issue is they feel they are contenders, this shows by bringing Rodgers back... and teams dont go into a season they think they have a shot with two virtual rookies... compounding matters is that in 2019, the Steelers caved to fan pressure and kept Duck Hodges to go with inexperienced Mason Rudolph while trading Josh Dobbs, them Ben went Down and their season was screwed... so you probably wont see them do it again.. drafting allar meant barring injury, Howard is gonna have to have a lights out super camp otherwise he is probably getting dealt or cut
Dumbest assessment I’ve seen in a whileSome ill people on here.
Steelers plan to miss the playoffs; they want an excellent draft pick.
They do want to see what the young qbs can do, and I’m sure Rodgers wants to play few snaps.
Translation: they are going to play the young qbs this year, and Rodgers provides an experienced backup who may start the season if none of the kids are ready.
Not having to throw young qbs into the fire is not a bad thing.

Yeah? He could retire and leave you with less in the room. He did have that option.I hear you, but he had no other offers we had him over a barrel.

Cmon man we never root for injury not a good approach.Allar and Howard will again be unknowns next year unless the Steelers are fortunate for the old man to break and be out for a significant (more than 50%) portion if the season.
I’ll be rooting for significant injury early cuz the Steelers are too effin stupid to have any vision for the future. They say never root for injury…**** that. If the ownership is too stupid sometimes that’s the last resort to save themselves from their own cowardice and stupidity.
I don’t root for the Browns
The Steelers are becoming the Browns
Saw this coming, but definitely am now to the point that it’s time to take a year off…watch teams that give a **** and maybe come back next year cuz this song and dance is like taking your sister to prom…no winners ever coming away from this dance... And should the Steelers score they’re ******* their damn sister for fucksake.
Can’t even with the absolute stupidity and bafoonery of Art’s Steelers.
We know Allar isn’t ready. Then you had a 6th round try hard. He will get his training camp looks. But perhaps our wants don’t align with what they see at the position. They might have evaluated and saw the answer not in the room and Allar being a future possibility.1 playoff win is probably the ceiling for this team now and we are another year away from really even beginning to find the future QB with Howard and Allar sitting on the bench and getting limited reps-I’m almost more excited about watching these two play in the pre season than watching the regular season this year
We will need to draft a QB in round 1 next year as we learn very little about the young QBs we have now, unless of course Rooney does it all again and brings back Rodgers for a 3rd season![]()
Agreed Slash, Allar isn’t ready now, but what about in November? I don’t see why Howard couldn’t be ready earlier than that.We know Allar isn’t ready. Then you had a 6th round try hard. He will get his training camp looks. But perhaps our wants don’t align with what they see at the position. They might have evaluated and saw the answer not in the room and Allar being a future possibility.
I am also excited to see them in preseason as one of them might be playing sooner than anticipated.
You sure he didn't have an offer from Jitter's nursing home?I hear you, but he had no other offers we had him over a barrel.
Of course they aren’t a threat to win it all they are transitioning.Agreed Slash, Allar isn’t ready now, but what about in November? I don’t see why Howard couldn’t be ready earlier than that.
Like you I want to see wins, but I don’t see this team as a threat to win it all, so if we can’t be that I’d rather end the year knowing something about Allar and Howard
You’re right of course that there was no way Rooney was going to allow this team to start the year without Rodgers if he could be had, Rooney can’t stomach a rebuilding year and has told everyone that already
This would be the really bad part of this. Let the kids fight out for backup and broom Rudy. With Rodgers back, are we thinking Mason will be the backup and well learn nothing about Howard or Allar?
I don’t think Howard gets picked up by another team. 31 teams passed on him five times last year. He hasn’t really shown anything since. I believe he’d make it to PS, unless he just balls out this preseason.Doubt they keep 4 QB's and if you put 1 on the PS he'd get picked up. So who is the odd man out?
Comedy gold!!!Has anyone checked on Coryea?
What ale were you drinking BEFORE you shared this thought???They should cut Will Howard now. Rodgers needs some reps as starter. Allar should get the bulk of the rest because he's the upside guy that McCarthy hand picked. Rudolph has a role as the experienced #2 who can be ready on limited reps. There's just not enough reps to try to develop Allar and Howard.
I hear Landry Jones is available...It's not about wanting to see more from him. He's an experienced backup. You need one of those on the team. Rodgers is old.
If the steelers didn't sign Rodgers and they just wanted to roll the dice this year on Rudolph starting until Allar or Howard is ready, it would mean they were punting on 26 as a developmental year.
Signing Rodgers means they want to win this year. That means no room for 2 backup QBs with zero NFL snaps.
Training camp and the preseason could very well change this perception. Sure teams passed on him but he wasn’t a 7th rounder. There was still some wiggle room there. A common perception was that he fell and that teams were well QB stocked by that point. That there wasn’t a huge need. Not sure at this point I want to roll the dice. As you said he could ball out. Perhaps I let him and Rudy battle it out and the loser I send packing. I think that would be a fair approach and one the team very well could take on.I don’t think Howard gets picked up by another team. 31 teams passed on him five times last year. He hasn’t really shown anything since. I believe he’d make it to PS, unless he just balls out this preseason.
I see you had a deep gulp of Ripple too...Some ill people on here.

AllarSo does Howard or allar have the injury that puts them on IR
I'm looking at it with my positivity shades on...In the words of Dee Snider
“If that’s your best…your best won’t do!”
We’re not gonna take it
No we ain’t gonna take it
We’re not gonna take it anymore
What a dumbazz **** for brains clinging to mediocrity owner the Pittsburgh Steelers have.
Rodgers was mid last year and ain’t getting better, but sure throw the chicken **** scared of contact geriatric QB back there for another run that is GUARANTEED to go absolutely nowhere.
This move likely sets the franchise back at least 2-3 more years.
Effing clown show of an organization
May as well be the Stains with how bad they are screwing up a QB situation
Some were hitting the ripple hard last night even on twitter you would swear it was the Mardi Gras .I see you had a deep gulp of Ripple too...![]()
