4 Realistic Trade Targets for the Steelers at WR

at dedline trade for AJ

Yeah let's build a team around a 38 year old QB coming off an elbow injury. The same team coached by the same moron who couldn;t win a championship with Ben in his prime and with great talent like AB and Bell. These trades are nothing but to try and save Tomlin form a 4-12 record, have to prop up the moron.

I don’t think so... there were more short term things that could be done to make that more likely.... honestly I think because Ben is out the front office took a long honest look at shortcomings and decided that waiting on the problems to resolve themselves wasn’t working...

Also I honestly think they reached that point where they are evaluating Tomlin for real... like cowher around 2000ish... I think he has to show real improvement in other areas for them to keep him past Ben retiring....

I was really hoping Ben would get at least one year without the boat anchor of Tomlin around his neck but it looks like Tomlin will have at least one or two seasons without him. This season is gone - even if we win tonight there is no way we win against the Ravens or the Chargers so we go into the Dolphins game with a 1 - 5 record. I was optimistic about 7-9, now looking more like 5 - 11.

The issue is that they have gutted next years draft already. Unless they trade some players for future draft picks. I can see a trade if you need a guy. When you need "guys" then you are in trouble looking for trades. This team without Ben is not going to the SB. Also I personally believe Ben will be fine next year. But nobody really knows that. So your willing to throw caution to the wind to win next year?

I don't see these trades as setting up next year for Ben. These trades seem like CYA Tomlin trades. If they were going all in for Ben then why not this year before he got hurt? Why not trade some of the picks from last years draft for players that can play now? They didn't. They traded up to draft yet another #1 defensive player. These trades reek of desperate and a FO scrambling to cover for Tomlin inept coaching ability. There is no Ben to hide behind now. No more LeBeau. No more Munchak. That's where these trades are coming from. Not for next year with Ben.

Right now the best move is to wait for moncrief hand to heal, give them a chance and hope he shows enough to trade him for a 5th rounder . Then we save the famous 3rd round comp plus get something back for the disappointing WR

We absolutely need another wr that can get seperation and be a deep threat... juju is getting smothered... Washington is a one trick pony, and dionte is a rookie.... switzer is worthless...moncrief is in the doghouse and horton has been underwhelming...

cut Mongrief and Switzer

bring in Jordan Mathews and Gary Jennings Jr.

why is Switzer still back there returning kicks? He really has no value to this team. They put Johnson out there for one return, was a penalty. Tomlin had them re-kick and trotted Switzer back out there for a fair catch.

I don't know where Washington has disappeared to. He was invisible. Montcrief played two downs, running plays.

Noooo more trades please. Especially not for draft picks! Rudolph is gradually getting acclimated to the offense, opposing defenses will start emphasizing coverage of short dump off routes and things will start opening up downfield.

They could at least find a better option and replace Switz.

I wouldn't debate they have a lot of dead wood at WR: Switz, Moncrief, Holton. Time to start juggling guys in from the practice squad or bring back Eli.

IMO they totally screwed up by moving Spencer to the PS and keeping Switz on the 53. I don't care if he did have some drops in the Preseason, Spencer is the only Steelers return guy I've seen in the past 10 years who has consistently made plays. Just watch any Saints game and you see them raving about their rookie return guy ( another small guy) and his value in flipping the field. Just another example of Tomlin "living in his fears" in spite of him saying otherwise.

eli rogers back or Switzer he is useless

Wonder if Bengals would trade AJ Green. I could see the Patriots making a run for him near the deadline if he’s healthy. Probably could get him for a 3rd at this point since he’s in the last year of his deal.
