2026 Free Agency Begins Thread

These signings look alot like the Colbert/Cowher days, sign quality FA's at positions of need or weakness so you don't have to reach for a need in the draft and can look at BPA.
So a G please. Next up on the docket.

😃

Also worth noting is Ramsey has a bonus due today. So if they plan on unloading him one way or another that would happen today more than likely.

If it is quiet on the home front say into the evening then that indicates again more than likely that he is staying put.
The bonus due today is only $2m so probably doesn't impact tradeability too much. The $3.5m in salary that becomes guaranteed would make cutting him less doable.

This was the first game this past season I believe vs the Jets, the guys on the fan were going crazy because PFF rated Fields better than Rodgers after that game.

I remember. Rodgers' TDs were catch and long run or wide open. Throws any QB should be able to make.

If people listened more to PFF, nobody would have been excited about signing Trubisky a couple years ago. They all cited his passer rating that one year, the same year PFF had him rated 33rd and were pilloried by Bears fans.

He may be in NY/NJ but he is certainly no Giant. He may still be here if he was.

He’s also still be here if the NFL allowed Midget tossing, still.

Salute the nation

I'd draft a safety before double dipping at either line

I’d like an impact player back there too

With Elliot returning
What they’ve done at CB (allows Ramsey at S)
Brought in Savage and Brisker
Still have the young Castro too, iirc

I think the FA moves have pushed the S need down the board. There are some good bangers that will be available late, but with other needs a top 100 pick for a ballhawk seems 50/50 at best now where it was a pretty big need a week ago.

Seems a T and a G should be a lock
A minimum 1 DL seems needed
Just figured a 2nd would happen cuz Weidl

As the roster sits today OL should be a top priority along with QB and WR imho

Seems like DL would be next up on the needs list to me. We have 4 guys that form the base of the room, but one is older than dirt and decision time on Benton will be coming soon too.

I suspect a very heavy Offensive leaning in the 2026 draft.

OT or OG in 1, QB in 2/3, WR & whatever missed out in 1 (OT/OG). Maybe add in another WR before the 4th is done.

yeap, agree. I'm expecting a new contract for Benton pretty soon

PFF and similar sites are the reason Garrett won DPOY a few season back when Watt beat him in every single stat, and had like 7 more sacks than him. Lead the NFL in most of those categories as well.

Im hearing they are going to use Anderson as a starter. Any additions will be as a backup. Id like them to have brought in another experienced IOL, or maybe target that Penn State kid higher up in the draft, but it looks like that is going to be a lower mid round target. Maybe a leftover FA too..,

The issue with PFF is too high a reliance on subjectivity.

When the concept of advanced stats was first being explored, it was because the basic objective stats could be misleading..

ESPN took the advanced stat concept too far with QBR... which interjected highly biased subjectivity to the stat process... PFF took it a step further doing the same thing for every position...

The issue with that is their analysts judge players by the techniques and strategies they are familiar with... 50 years ago that may have worked, but this era there are so many varied techniques and strategies and so much read options that no analyst can know what players were expected to do on a play with any real consistency... its basically an educated guess stat...

It is right on occasion, sure... there are often basic concepts they correctly judge... but it is wrong a metric ton and players and coaches point that out often ...

Saw somewhere he was listed at 310 lbs, he’s bigger than that and when I heard of the signing, I was also hoping allot of snaps at NT. Long arms as well, over 34.

Rasheed Walker is signing with Carolina, worth up to 10m...that's a steal for his talent, must have some other issues going on...
