So the Cousins contract really shows NFL finance. They are paying 25 million dollars hoping Mendoza out performs him and looks ready to go by week what.......8? Unbelievable

When you look at the contract structure it is effectively a 1 year $11.3m contract with a 4 year $160m Raiders option. 2026 he only gets $1.3m salary, only other guaranteed money is his 2027 $10m roster bonus. The rest of it has no guarantees unless he is on the Raiders roster 5th day of the 2027 league year, at which time $80m becomes guaranteed.

I think it's clear the plan is to not rush Mendoza this year, and they expect him to be ready to start in 2027.
