2021, the year the window slams shut

Ben's chances at another ring went out the door with the killer bee's.

Tomlin and Ben couldn't get it done with the 2 top skill guys in the league?
The Steelers got cheap with Bell, and Ben's ego made him think he could make it happen without Brown.
They let the stars walk.
What did everyone think was going to happen?

Is this sarcasm, or are you just retarded?

This could've been avoided if we would've just paid Woodson all of those years ago ... that was a dumb *** move in my book. It took me years and a lot of love for the Bus to get over that one. Grrrr.

Oh give it rest you pansy narcissistic freeloader. All you are is an attention ***** who hates Tomlin, or anyone who goes against your asinine opinions. You have no more expertise than the writers you plagiarize or crap you make up. You cheer and piss yourself at every loss, or poor play from any player you “evaluated”. For someone who says he doesn’t need to be on this board much, you show up more than others. You actions show you are obviously no fan of the franchise, just another cheap ******* claiming he is and who pushes the limits of the mods and Board administrator.

You are mainly an empty poster, rarely provide meaningful discussion. Only how you are right with “your forecasting”. You been saying the same agenda fueled Negative Coaching/front office, Negative player rants for years. When have you ever been right? Chickillo?, no wait....a 5th round Punter. No your legacy, your fame to this Board is your Polamalu prediction.

The majority of this board if acted on it would probably rather have Justin remove your thread privileges because of your posts are bullshit 95% of the time. Maybe we should. Because you are an insult to the board.

I call them as I see them and correctly predicted the loss to the Bills. Your replies are boring, and I'll stack my football IQ way above yours. Maybe you should skip my posts, just a suggestion.

PS: I post on may topics here, not just Tomlin. We all know you love him. Let me know which topic you want to hear on and for the holidays I will create that post just for your sorry soul. I could list a ton of content you're leaving out.

Ta.

Ok here is a topic. Enthrall my sorry soul. Why won’t you contribute to this board, since you spend so much time and effort trying to make yourself seem smarter than you really are on it? If you can’t afford to, just say so. If you won’t, is it because you think your better than the board? If so, I’ll start a petition to limit your thread creations. Because they all end up the same way, talking about your predictions or opinions are right and everyone else is wrong. A waste of time and bandwidth.

OutCoached, your football IQ has stacks? Of what Walter Football magazines?

I don’t have to worry about comparing my football knowledge to yours, as you’ve shown your IQ is like counting numbers on your fingers and toes. Plus a Narcissistic Dumb *** like yourself wouldn’t even acknowledge when someone is significantly more knowledgeable than you.

We had tofu for dinner last night. I didn't eat it, I was already full of beer and nachos from the early games.

I thought tofu was a made up food until my early 20s. still haven't really seen it. what does it taste like?

Yes, you and how many other people? SMDH. Unlike a lot of people here, I think that when you just talk football, you can be a decent read. It's when you get into the ego driven, I predicted, football IQ, me me me horseshit that people bristle. It's like you're this board's version of Trump that just can't understand why people don't like him, so you have to thump your chest about yourself.

Just talk football. That's it. I think you and everyone else would appreciate it.

Not sure that's possible. I've know people over the years that believe they are experts on any given subject, you don't even need to ask them. My solution has been to just avoid them if at all possible.

It's taste is like rice, whatever you put it with, it will taste like. My wife does a soy sauce/ rice vinegar sauce, presses it and bakes it. IT's a family favorite. We eat meat too, just not every day.

If you've had miso soup, those little white cubes are tofu.

I have had Miso. thought it was daikon radish thanks.

The only reason I open coach threads anymore, is to read other people calling him out...

He never has admitted to being wrong about Polamalu

How many years ago was that? I said Troy had a very mediocre rookie year, which is correct, and called him short by the standards of his position. I'm sure everyone here thought he was a hall of fame player back then! This board needs a wayback machine or longer archives. Some would be muzzled based on what they said. Me, oh my I'd have too many I told you so's. Let's get real, if this is the only example you have in 17+ years, what does that say? I have my misses too, but way more hits.

Just a few :) busts I've called.

Sweet, Hood, Jones, Burns, Golson, Archer, how many more should I list? I've called my share of hits too that the Steelers pass on or selected The funny thing, at least for me is generic fan types sticking up for these draft picks, and attacking me, only for what I call a victory lap 2-4 years later to say I told you so. Some can't take it. For years I have asked others to ante up, but they seldom speak on who we should have drafted or signed. Few do and when they say something its like Claypool is a 3rd round talent.

I do enjoy it. Thanks.

It's because you said it on draft day, the day after, and all the way leading up to the season. Then when he shows early success you ride him, and may throw in I had a 3rd round grade on him.

It doesn't matter, he wouldn't have been there in the 3rd round.

No, that's not our ONLY example, that's just the one that everyone remembers being so blatantly retarded. And to clear things up, you said his head was too big, and his body was too short, and you said he'd never amount to anything, that he was a reach.

People are annoyed my your "look at me posts", how you THINK you know more than anyone else... You are A HUGE reason that TMC isn't around anymore. I Guarantee, everyone would rather have him than you

if i could like this post more i would click it about 100 times.

I'm pretty sure Colbert is more than capable of figuring this **** out & navigating his way through all this cap sludge, and keeping the Steelers competitive...

He's done it for years...

Alright let's revisit some of these and hear some thoughts on our players. I think what you're seeing is a very interesting dynamic going on. You have some young foundation-type players in the 2021 free-agent class. These are the guys you want to build your team around but may not be able to due to the lack of cap space. In 2022, you have some legendary names. Aging veterans who have been a big part of the reason the Steelers have been so successful for so many years. The Steelers are loyal to their guys, but this feels a bit like the end of Cowher's last group of great players and the next group stepped in. Do the Steelers accelerate that process or do they stay loyal to the veterans who got us here at the expense of younger players?

2021 Key Free Agents (starters or primary backups)
Zach Banner
James Conner
Josh Dobbs
Matt Feiler
JuJu Smith-Schuster
Alejandro Villanueva
Avery Williams

OIa Adeniyi
Marcus Allen
Tyson Alualu
Bud Dupree
Mike Hilton
Robert Spillane
Cameron Sutton
Chris Wormley

Ray-Ray McCloud
Jordan Berry

2022 Key Free Agents
David DeCastro
Eric Ebron
Vance McDonald
Chuks Okorafor
Maurkice Pouncey
Ben Roethlisberger
Mason Rudolph
Jaylen Samuels
James Washington

Joe Haden
Steven Nelson
TJ Watt
Vince Williams

Kameron Canady

So again next season most players wont get huge contracts... because frankly there wont be the money to go around...
most of these guys will be back at what they made this year. If ben doesn’t retire this offseason, he will be extended out to allieve cap issues... dobbs wont be an expensive guy to retain...

I like Juju a lot, but if he is pricey Washington can handle his snaps... tag and trade him then offer a low round pick for Ross from Cincinnati... we need a true burner badly

Sign alualu... try to sign Hilton and sutton... it honestly might not be that hard... tell duper that if he doesn’t get the perfect contract he can resign here for whatever we can afford and pad stats for another year....

I dont care about conner... rb s are a dime a dozen...

That is the real hitch isn't - nobody right now knows just what the cap will be. If it goes down or even stays flat, there are a lot of teams in trouble with the cap. If it goes that route, teams will have to unload really good players. Those same players are going to have to take huge cuts to find work somewhere else. Seems to me it behooves the teams and the players to come up with some sort of arrangement to spread this years losses over future years. That would be a win for players, teams, and fans.

Of course, then there is always the idea that some team owners may jump at the idea to lower salaries regardless of what it does to the team's on field success for margin improvements (even if they are short term gains). Seems like a very Bob Nutting sort of way of thinking doesn't it? Alas, I would bet a chocolate milkshake, fries, and burger that a few owners would love to go that route.

either way, the coming offseason could be a wild ride.

I bolded the ones that are most likely to be retained and have the greatest chance of staying IMO. Juju obviously is a big question mark but i think they find a way to keep him. Villy and Sutton are next two most expensive. I think Sutton will be tough to keep but we'll see.

No...it's the stupidity of making pronouncements about a player after year one, good or bad. If a player has a great first year, teams will study him on film. Can the player make the adjustments to keep succeeding? Likewise, if a player has a so-so first year, can he make the adjustments to be an impact player in the league?

Why not just shut up about players one way or the other until a few years in?

Here it is folks......the exhibit we are looking for.

12 “I’s”, 6 “me/my’s and calling those who disagree “generic fan types” in only two paragraphs. Narcissism by definition.

Incredibly OutCoached demands Justin to have a better “wayback machine” or archives. Yet doesn’t contribute. Freeloader 101.

Two things Dumb ***. First, I truly doubt you’ve been on this board since 2004. If so, it’s just more proof how much of a freeloader you are. Second, a player who played in 142 games in the NFL and started 73 isn’t a bust. Even being the last pick in the first. Additionally A player who doesn’t play one snap due to a severe injury isn’t a bust either. You can’t evaluate someone who hasn’t played. A lost/wasted pick sure. But not a bust. Considering he never missed a game from injury in his entire college career.

But please, keep providing evidence. The more rope you give the better.

2021 Key Free Agents (starters or primary backups)

Zach Banner
James Conner - We could keep him, the question remains why would we?
Josh Dobbs
Matt Feiler - Probably worth a few million to another team, we are up against the cap. Likely gone
JuJu Smith-Schuster - Could fetch the Steelers a 3rd or 4th round comp pick.
Alejandro Villanueva - Likley gone. Worth a 3rd to 5th round comp pick
Avery Williams

OIa Adeniyi
Marcus Allen
Tyson Alualu - Might have more value than we think as a free agent
Bud Dupree - Will cost the max to re-sign. Save it for TJ, and take the 3rd round comp pick
Mike Hilton - Valuable l to the team, I hope to re-sign him
Robert Spillane - Not an Unrestricted free agent, we can keep him. Say goodbye to Williams
Cameron Sutton - Showing his value. Teams will be after him as a free agent
Chris Wormley

Ray-Ray McCloud - For the right money, I want him back
Jordan Berry

Comments above.

As I said before the Steelers are minus
  • 21,789,219) in cap space. OUCH. The cap might go down next season as well. We will likely need to cut need to cut some people, and can not win any bidding war in free agency. The best move might be to let the high priced guys go and take the comp picks in 2022.

Look I've been here since Juice and Dave were running things. A long time, pre 2004.

The infamous " big head " comment came in Troy's rookie year. That was 2003. Boy you are DUMB. The choice to donate is yours. I gave it a try. Wasn't for me. If that bothers you, it's a small smile from me. Most posters here are " free loaders " First round picks who don't start are not good first round picks, But I'm not a homer like you are, so....

Please do play along during free agency saying it was a good move or not, and of course during the draft. I'd lay even odds that your about as bad as anyone here.

Please do keep posting!
