2021, the year the window slams shut

Edmunds has a zero percent chance of being beat out by Brooks this year.

Also, can we talk about how awful those grades are for the Steelers defensive backfield? Minkah with a 73.6 and Joe Haden the lowest graded CB on the team and over 10 points less than Nelson? Get real.

Yeah PFF isn't really a reliable platform anyway....lol

That must have been an earlier in the season grade they both finished the year a little higher

Minkah Fitzpatrick...overall 79.8

2019 Season Stats
Solo Tackles 50-39th
Interceptions 5--T-2nd
Targets 23---T-57th
Receptions Allowed 15---T-56th

He did have some issues covering, allowed 15 reception on 23 targets

Joe Haden Overall 70.3

Solo Tackles 63----T-9th
Interceptions 5------T-3rd
Targets 79-----25th
Receptions Allowed 42----T-39th

Same here...about 50% completion allowed

jus sayin...not judgin. I jus prints what I sees.

Nope, I definitely know the difference....found the article.

Gotcha, I agree Terell's performance has been lacking, I was just listing that he's not a FA, since that was what I put together above for FAs next year. If Brooks beats him out, I'm all for the better talent starting, but I honestly hope the light turns on for Terrell, since he's such a high potential talent.

Turnover is part of the game. What isn't part of the game is a global pandemic that is going to crush league revenue and deflate the cap. The window to win is now and if we can protect Ben for the next year and hope the virus doesn't shut down the game then we will have to enjoy what we can.

Finding another franchise QB could take decades, that is going to be the biggest issue.

Hey Cope. I saw an article ( can't find it now) that said Terrell Edmunds was one of 3 players that could be unexpected cap casualties because Brooks was potentially more versatile. The other two players I could see ( you too evidently ) were Villa and Conner but Edmunds had me scratchin. Is he considered to be that shaky that a 6th round pick could displace him ?

DEFENSE

CB Mike Hilton - 74.5 overall grade

CB Steven Nelson - 72.5 overall grade

CB Cam Sutton - 87.1 overall grade (highest graded secondary player)

CB Joe Haden - 61.5 overall grade (lowest graded corner)

S Kameron Kelly - 36.7 overall grade (lowest graded player on team)

S Terrell Edmunds - 63.3 overall grade

S Minkah Fitzpatrick - 73.6 overall grade

LB Mark Barron - 49.8 overall grade

LB Devin Bush - 57.2 overall grade

LB Vince Williams - 69.8 overall grade

DE Tyson Alualu - 70.1 overall grade

DT Javon Hargrave - 77.2 overall grade

DL Stephon Tuitt - 89.4 overall grade

DL Cam Heyward - 90.8 overall grade (Cam/Tuitt was the best iDL duo in NFL according to PFF)

EDGE TJ Watt - 90.4 overall grade (highest graded edge defender in NFL)

EDGE Bud Dupree - 80.6 overall grade (in his contract year, PFF finally grades him positively)

It's clear Edmunds is the weak link on the defense. Another poster pointed out that Fitzpatrick 79.8, and Joe Haden 70.3 finished the season higher rated.

Does anyone have the final PFF ratings for the season?

Some others on offense

https://www.pff.com/nfl/teams/pittsburgh-steelers/25/roster

Snell, who I think is a role player only 67.2

Ebron, who the Steelers over paid for 71.1

Pouncey who had a down season 51.5 Pouncey could become a liability soon.

Rudolph 53 - Not the future

Duck 45.8 - Might not be the present as a back up

Wisniewski 70-9 - A good free agent pick up, worth the cap price .

Keep in mind, Ebron's numbers was with white hot garbage at QB. And the money paid for him pales to the market value of TEs this year. Just ask Chicago fans.

Good to have Wis also as a better center backup than we've had in a long time.

I don't think Ebron was overpaid. Here are some of the guys around him in Avg/Year

Cameron Brate $6,800,000/year
C.J. Uzomah $6,100,000/year
Nick Boyle $6,000,000/year
Eric Ebron $6,000,000/year
Jesse James $5,650,000/year
Blake Jarwin $5,500,000/year
Vance McDonald $5,150,000/year

As for Pouncey, PFF has always scored Pouncey ridiculously low.

S Kameron Kelly - 36.7 overall grade (lowest graded player on team)

If I'm not mistaken, Ryan Shazier scored higher than that when he was on crutches.

always ******* doom and gloom about seasons in the future

after they take down #7 this season....I'm sure they will figure something out about 2021

Bumping an old post, as the gloom and doom is staring before 2021 " as the OL will be crap "

I might have been off a year. The OL is crap right now.

Three things
1. Extending Ben with creative cap methods eliminates the negative cap hit entirely
2. The Players are quietly expected to ask to borrow from future cap to slightly increase this one, otherwise the cap casualties will be epic... its a 730 million dollar dip in available cap space across the league for one season.....
3. Extending several of the older players should free up cap space to fill out the roster
4. Every worthwhile team except a couple is going to be gutting their team to field a full roster... there will be ample bargin players available and many of the smarter free agents will Likely take cheaper one year deals to push their UFA back to better cap seasons...

Much panic about something that isn’t relevant tight now

To be honest you don't gut a team with a top D anyways, You tweak the offense .When Ben hangs it up if the D is still playing well you bring in a QB if there is a decent one available.

I feel like this thread is just doom and gloomism. It was bumped because of the two game losing streak... it’s borderline trolling....

Can okorafor or Hawkins be the LT or Banner?

None of the above are great options, but Okorafor is the only guy who could if needed. I'd rather draft our LT in the first round and find our center of the future not long after.

OutCooch is a troll and a negative agenda driven ********. That is what you get from him 99.9999 percent of the time. He masks it or tries to but I see him clearly for what he is. He really brings nothing to Steeler action that is worth a damn. Even the negative posters that we do have at least mix things up. With him it is the same ol window licking tired played out ****. I look forward to the day he is banned. Or leaves doing SteelerNation a solid. That is the one thing he could do for a nation in need. [emoji16]

Stop trolling my threads. I list facts and trends. My forecast here seems spot on. Bad OL, up against the cap, and the window is closing in 2021. We are getting close to that date. Once the Steeler lose in the playoffs, you know I'm right. You just can't admit it.

I look forward to the day that you honor my wishes to donate prizes I won, or sell your trailer and move to to East Cleveland and have internet connections issues, unable to log on to this forum.

Oh give it rest you pansy narcissistic freeloader. All you are is an attention ***** who hates Tomlin, or anyone who goes against your asinine opinions. You have no more expertise than the writers you plagiarize or crap you make up. You cheer and piss yourself at every loss, or poor play from any player you “evaluated”. For someone who says he doesn’t need to be on this board much, you show up more than others. You actions show you are obviously no fan of the franchise, just another cheap ******* claiming he is and who pushes the limits of the mods and Board administrator.

You are mainly an empty poster, rarely provide meaningful discussion. Only how you are right with “your forecasting”. You been saying the same agenda fueled Negative Coaching/front office, Negative player rants for years. When have you ever been right? Chickillo?, no wait....a 5th round Punter. No your legacy, your fame to this Board is your Polamalu prediction.

The majority of this board if acted on it would probably rather have Justin remove your thread privileges because of your posts are bullshit 95% of the time. Maybe we should. Because you are an insult to the board.

Sell my trailer? Says the poster deathly afraid for anyone to know where he lives. Your sad pathetic opinions aren't fact. Yeah me and my trailer contributes. Your broke *** doesn't. If you need some money just ask I have some loose change around here somewhere.

We had tofu for dinner last night. I didn't eat it, I was already full of beer and nachos from the early games.

Surprised you didn’t have room for the tofu after Ben’s INT. That was definitely an upchuck moment.

Ben's chances at another ring went out the door with the killer bee's.

Tomlin and Ben couldn't get it done with the 2 top skill guys in the league?
The Steelers got cheap with Bell, and Ben's ego made him think he could make it happen without Brown.
They let the stars walk.
What did everyone think was going to happen?

Yeah those problem children that couldn't spell team if you spotted them the E, A and M. Keep fooling yourself the only thing they were ultimately going to bring was headaches.
