That is illogical. At this point you are being obtuse. We absolutely know that asymptomatic vaccinated people can spread a aerosol carried virus. This isn’t a conspiracy… its not a fantasy… its cold hard science.
We know the vaccines failed to stop people from incubating the virus to a contagious stage. No debate. The CDC admits as much.
The only thing that the pro vax crew can hold to is a reduced number of deaths and hospitalizations, both of which still wane over time…
Getting the vaccine injects a synthesized fragment of the virus protein into your body.
There are absolutely potentially bad outcomes from that process… this again is admitted even by the cdc…
Nobody has a bad effect from the cotton swab test… yes its biased high for positives but you can follow up that cheap test with a more precise blood test for positive cases to ensure it’s correct…
Knowing who has it keeps them from spreading it further..
There is absolutely no reason to cut back on testing unless you are admitting that the virus has mutated down to safe strains or you are actively trying to ignore cases
Once more the biggest problem right now is that for a couple months the cdc ignored the warnings that the process used in the partial spike protein might not be effective against the latest variants and that the antibody response wont continue to work as efficiently as it needed to past a couple months to prevent infection, and by not testing vaccinated people and letting them know that infection was still possible, they allowed it to be spread unchecked for months…
There isn’t a good outcome from less testing.. testing is super important to get accurate data and know the actual infection numbers and death rates… it also lets you find natural immunity numbers too…
Ive never been opposed to testing everyone… thats a legitimate response rather than dated ineffective processes like non rated masks or totally unscientific half assed lockdowns that prolong the epidemic… even on these threads you’ll see I supported tge abandoned Biden plan to force daily testing for all schools rather than force vaccines that aren’t working…

Wait, what? Where has this narrative been and why is this suddenly important? Testing like the NFL was doing is the exception among employers, not the norm. NFL test results of a few thousand players across 32 cities are an infinitely small sample, the data is meaningless to the general population.
Are you calling for wide-scale mass testing? Funded by whom? Force all employers and schools to test all employees and students? Exactly what are you proposing?

If I were in charge I would say/do the following:
1. Remove all vaccine mandates, they are only leading people to dig in their heels further about not getting the vaccine, this will roll over into other legitimate and viable inoculations that may get approval in the future.
2. Recommend every person in the US receive an antibody test for Covid. Until you have an accurate number as to how many people have already had the virus and what their antibody levels are, you cannot accurately predict the spread and severity of a disease. Using only vaccinated status as a gauge is naïve at best.
3. Stress vaccinations for those at risk individuals that are immunocompromised, have pre-existing conditions, elderly, and those living in tight living quarters (long term care, nursing homes, hospice facilities, jails...etc.
4. Stop tracking cases of Covid and only track those admitted to the hospital and fatalities.
5. Stop testing close contacts and/or asymptomatic individuals for Covid. Save testing supplies and at-home supplies for those that are symptomatic.
6. Encourage those that have been vaccinated and/or have sufficient antibodies to go about living their lives normally. The sooner people have exposure to the virus in their immune system the sooner this is no longer a novel virus and the sooner this becomes endemic.
7. Explain to everyone that this virus is not and will not ever go away. People will still die from viral infections, much like they do from Influenza A and B. Encourage those most at risk the benefits to them wearing an approved N-95 mask in public, as not only can Covid 19 be deadly to them, so can a Cold or Flu. The most vulnerable need to protect themselves, stop believing that everyone else can magically protect anyone from getting the virus.

Why are you so distraught about the NFL at this point? the NHL is MORE vaccinated than the NFL. Why are cases increasing in the NHL at this point?

I don’t give damn, if an employer wants to mandate vaccination or testing or both, that’s their right. How am I distraught about the NFL? I’m not the one freaking out about their changed testing policy. Why are cases increasing everywhere?

Sure going into the last year that was absolutely planned… that all prisons and schools would have 100% testing to get better baseline data… before they went nuts with vaccine mandates that really was tge goal… test and treat.. and as i posted here and elsewhere I totally support that… why wouldn’t you? Its not dangerous… it is a tried and true method that was supported by the obama and bush administration in limited functions during previous outbreaks…
If tge omicron variant isn’t dangerous then sure, the pandemic is virtually over and we dont need the protocols, if covid is still dangerous then the nfl intentionally stopping testing only the vaccinated who still can catch and spread the virus is clearly only being done to ignore cases and not cancel games… it’s disingenuous and should be called out…
