FWIW, a vehement anti-vaxxer anti-masker friend of mine was just moved into ICU last night with covid. 60 and healthy female, a 4.0 tennis player. Prayers appreciated.

Is your friend vaccinated for varicella, papilloma, polio, small pox, or any one of dozens of other vaccines? Being skeptical of this mRNA shot does not
automatically make someone to be against all vaccines.
Again, good luck to your friend, being healthy and active, with what I assume would be normal body weight should act in her favor.

I have no idea. I know she wasn’t vaccinated for Covid and now is seriously ill with it. Whether one has anything to do with the other I’ll leave to you all to debate because frankly I’m weary of debating it.

The virus is real. We all react differently to it. Being an athlete doesn’t necessarily mean you’re healthy.
Diet, nutrients, recovery all come into play.
As well as dna response. Some athletes are natural and can look like a greek god/goddess but if diet etc isn’t on point, their insides may not be all too well.

There will be no end to this pandemic, it's a virus without a true vaccine to stop it.
Your side will continue to spread fear, knowing that there is an election in under a year, using that as an excuse to adjust voting procedures once again in the name of safety.

If your side wanted to save lives, there would have been a balanced approach protecting the most vulnerable among us while allowing the least vulnerable to carry the load and live their lives. Instead the approach killed countless never infected with the virus.

If your side wanted to save lives, they would not have mitigated any and all therapeutics that have been offered up as solutions. Instead, drugs like Ivermectin and Hydroxychloroquine and Remdesivir were demonized. Instead your side has made it 100% about the vaccines which simply are not working to the level we need them to. We need more than the vaccines. Your side won't consider it.
Your side would not be politicizing monoclonal antibodies, and would be pushing to rapidly make it available for treatment.
Your side is destroying lives with policies like masking and schools. Our children are suffering immensely when they are simply not at risk.

I'm sure we can all agree, after 2 years of this, that masking, lockdowns, and the vaccines haven't worked. If they had, we wouldn't be facing yet another wave and more variants. We need new policies and treatments. Better vaccines, a massive amount of investment in therapeutics that work. Treat the disease - because trying to prevent it has failed.
Both sides need to come together to find solutions. Because what's being done and has been done has failed.

Full disclosure, because I don't hide ****. But I just watched a funeral for a high school friend who died of Covid. Vax status unknown. His sister and I were in the same grade. He was her older brother. He and his wife both got Covid out in WA state (he lived half the year there, half the year back here). They both ended up in the hospital. She recovered, he did not. When he got Covid, he began taking Ivermectin, I know that. Per his sister, he stopped taking it after a day. No idea why. Regardless, he is gone. I couldn't be at the funeral, but they streamed it. I just finished watching it. It was held in the church I grew up in.
A sad day.
I took Ivermectin for 10 days and a ZPack when I had it in August. I can't say it made a difference or not. I'm an asthmatic. It never made it to my lungs. I'd like to think the therapeutics helped.
I only wish he had used his. It might have made a difference.
