The naturally immune are of course a big part of the solution. With a survival rate of 99.5%, those who have had the virus and recovered are a HUGE part of the protection to the uninfected since they don't tend to get the virus a second time, and when they do, have minimal symptoms and don't spread it to the non-infected much if at all.

If you are saying that relying solely on natural immunity is a riskier hedge against the Chinese flu than the vaccine, since having the Chinese flu carries with it a 0.5% mortality rate overall but much higher among the elderly and those with co-morbidities like diabetes and obesity, agreed. But your utter refusal to recognize the well-documented protection given by natural immunity is frankly bizarre.

Yes. No one of sound mind is suggesting that people get infected with Covid to protect themselves from Covid.

Natural immunity, like vaccinated immunity varies and wanes. It’s widely believed that the best protected people are the ones with hybrid immunity.

What those graphs show is that of the 11 states with the highest case rates, 9 (82%) are among the lowest vaccinated states

AND

Of the 8 states with the lowest case rates, 7 (88%) are among the highest vaccinated states.

How does that not support the vaccine’s effectiveness? And before you call it cherry-picking, that accounts for 19 of 50 states, with many of the states not included being close to the National mean of 28.

Regardless, all of those states have many thousands, if not millions, of unvaccinated people. You can’t really draw conclusions about the vaccines effectiveness without having the case rates for each population (vaccinated vs. unvaccinated).

49% of the lowest cases per 100K state are below the national average in vaccination.

If the vaccines worked effectively, the green states (most vaxed) would have the lowest cases/day, the unvaxed would have the highest.

That pattern isn't followed.
