Steelers - Eagles preseason game thread

Terrible read and an even worse throw by Dobbs. My god!

With the logjam that Dobbs is facing on the Steelers' qb depth chart, he may think about getting on and doing something with his aerospace engineering degree. I mean, unless he REALLY LOVES FOOTBALL that much and is ready to accept a coaching position, he should just face reality and use that smarty brain of his to make his mark.

Ugh, Dobbs. There were 3 white jerseys where you threw that ball.

If the main reason they want to keep Dobbs is for his insights, then just offer him a coaching internship. He'd be a fool to turn down the opportunity to be groomed for a coaching gig to go elsewhere and be a 3rd string QB. He's a smart enough guy to know coaching is his best future in the NFL.
I have them adding Dobbs to the PS. He can still clipboard assist from there.

Well the other option is to practice squad Dobbs, but he may well get an offer elsewhere…

im not sure he is going to be a coach in the nfl… i think his degree offers him higher salaries than low level coaches make… i mean the option to possibly make 850k if he makes a roster is worthwhile him sticking with the nfl for now, but he probably isn’t going to stay in the nfl once his playing days are gone

Hence why Dobbs is running in quicksand as the #4 QB.

They can stash him on the PS, if he's still eligible.

Again the cap structure pretty much assures that won’t happen

the Steelers are much higher on Rudolph than the fanbase is… his contract is set up that it costs a couple hundred thousand more to cut him than keep him, plus you have to add another 850k in cap charges if both Dobbs and Haskins make it…

Haskins is still trying to prove that he can make nfl progression reads… and he is doing ok… but he was horrible in Washington and he has virtually no value across the league… if they keep Dobbs as the 3 Qb because Ben likes his insight, then Haskins is absolutely on the outside looking in… but he would absolutely be offered a ps spot and probably would be in the running to start next year if ben does retire…

Rudolph is going to be the QB2 this year.

The sooner fans accept that, the better.

Rudolph is a much more talented passer than he's given credit. As you said, there's a reason why the Steelers have remained high on him.

He can throw dimes down field. I'm not sure if he can ever be consistent enough on the mid-range throws to be anything more than a good back up, but there is some potential there.

Haskins is doing some nice things, but this was always going to be a developmental year for him.

Nice pick, baby!!!! Ah, love 4th quarter pre-season games middle of August. :ROFLMAO:

OMG…Listening to Youtube stream of game from Eagles fans is brutal. They *****, whine, and moan every damn play….

Haskins has looked decent tonight. I'd like to see him against the starters before I go around sporting wood for the guy. Rudolph isn't the guy. Might as well find out if Haskins might be.

Love these practice squad WR's. Anthony Johnson out of Buffalo was rated 2nd/3rd rnd pick in the draft that year. Cody White making big plays. Tyler Simmons TD last week, Sexton punt return, Rico Bussey in camp. Funny how they all seem to be standing out, in bits & pieces, with Clay, JuJu, Dionte just chillin' on the sidelines.

Its no lie tgat the Steelers and Ravens should trade the two best wrs tge Steelers are going to cut for tge best two dbs the Ravens are going to cut… totally benefits both teams lol
***every single season lol
