SO FAR , he cant carry Farriors jock.
I thought Bush was solid in his first season. Made some good splash plays. Farrior was solid and consistent I will agree in these areas he isn't jock strap worthy.SO FAR , he cant carry Farriors jock.
Spillane roams in a much narrower box in comparison to Bush. Really think the two shouldn't be compared statistically unless that is part of the equation. The "coveted" first round pick they traded for Bush was 20 overall if memory serves, much less coveted than the pick #10 they got to draft Bush...just sayin'
We gave up a 2nd and 3rd to move up in the round would be a bit more accurate. The only recent pick 1 we actually parted with for a player was for Minkah, a very solid move it was indeed.
Also a bit hesitant to label him a generational talent (unless we are referring to stupidity of tweets) until he does a little something more on the field,
He does have a unique skill set, but also has a lot to prove
Just for reference from what I could pull up quickly last year stat lines for comparison:
Devin Bush 278 snaps 26 (16/10) tackles, 1 sack, 0 INT
Robert Spillane 378 snaps 45 (39/6) tackles, 2 sacks, 1 INT, 1FR, 1TD
By this measure Spillane seemed to perform equally "stat wise" is he too a "generational" talent?
Up to this point D Bush looks the part, but the hype is more than the production...especially when comparing him and what we gave up for him to a UDFA

Good response, no really coochOk coach
So in a narrower box he makes more plays for than a player who covers more ground is the argument?Spillane roams in a much narrower box in comparison to Bush. Really think the two shouldn't be compared statistically unless that is part of the equation.
I was wondering what "once and a generation" meant, myself.Throwing that "once in a generation" title around like candy makes me think it's way to early for that praise.
We had an in-depth discussion on here a few months back about how Spillane's numbers were much better, how he made more splash plays, and how the defense didn't have any drop off after Bush's injury...but Bush fans will fabricate any type of excuse to explain it away. The "coveted" first round pick they traded for Bush was 20 overall if memory serves, much less coveted than the pick #10 they got to draft Bush...just sayin'

I agree he has less coverage assignments, if that is your point...but wouldn’t a player who covers so much more ground make more plays otherwise?
Well considering there was a lengthy thread last year, started by coach, trying to argue the exact same points... Only to get torn apart, it was a very fitting responseGood response, no really cooch
Sorry Insaniti, I see Coach threads and move along haha, must have missed it
