Nothing about us trading for another pick - Isaiahh Loudermilk, DE

Gave up our 4th next year to get a 5th this year. They must really like this kid.

That's what I'm seeing. He looks like a PS player at best right now. Not sure why we wasted a 4th round pick on him. He, more than likely, would have been there in the 6th or even 7th round. Big reach from what I can tell so far.
 
Loudermilk is a terrible athlete and a long-term developmental player from what it seems. I can't believe they traded a future 4th for him let alone draft him at all.

 
Yeah the issue remains that the current Steelers process has them do their own grading system and not really consider the consensus of where the other teams are taking players.... they have their grades in a bubble... thats why it takes them 2 seconds to pick..... check the chart, get the highest graded guy there.... they could have traded down ten picks on every one of tgese guys today and it still would have been a big reach on most....

again I don’t have an issue with the guys they are getting, I totally think they burn asset value badly these days...
 
This guy wasn't a top-300 prospect on most draft sites. I cannot wait to see the press conference for this one.
 
Doesn't make much sense when we need OLB depth. Loudermilk is presumably DE depth - unless they think he can lose weight and convert to OLB..? But does he have that athleticism?
 
They must see something special in him to trade a higher pick next season.

You're basically just throwing hail marries at this point in the draft anyway.
 
Lolley saying they're not viewing him as OLB depth and he bets they keep the kid at DE and ask him to put on weight. If it works out that way it shows they really must not have any confidence in Buggs, etc.

Dude is developmental to begin with and if they want to try and make him an OLB (something he hasn't done in the past), then he's even more developmental. Like I said, seems terrible to give up a 4th round pick when this guy definitely would have been there in the 6th and probably even the 7th round.

Wish they would've have seen that something special in the 6th or 7th when he still would've been sitting there on the board.

Dulac whiffed on that. They want to use him as a 5T so he'll be backing up at DE.
 
Bad pick, didn't do much in college. Best fit looks to be a back up 4-3. Too slow to be a OLB.
